Question: why Lowry over Thomas or DeRozan?

Lowry is having a great year. This is coming from one of his biggest naysayers. He's 4th in RPM, leads the NBA in RPM Wins. He's an analytical wet dream.

I think DeRozan gets the knob, but to
@jking948 point I actually agree that Lowry should start over DeRozan. I think overall he's their best player. DeRozan is their best scorer, Lowry is their best player.

Lowry is a 100% lock to make the team though. No debate there.

Maybe I am biased on Kevin Love. Maybe this is just a crusade to make up for the fact he got snubbed two straight years and starting would be sweet justice. Won't stop me from voting for him, but does Jimmy Butler deserve it more? Thought he was in the guard position, but he is a forward now and I'm afraid he will take Love's spot. He would probably be deserving, but I don't think Love's stats do his performance this year complete justice. But based on record, Lowry or Derozan could still deserve to start over Butler imo if he was a guard so it is weird. All should make the team at least.

I wish it could be Kyrie, Butler, Giannis, LeBron, Love. But I guess Love and Butler will be fighting for the last forward spot. Lowry, Demar, and Thomas for a guard spot. I like Embiid, but he shouldn't start this year. It will be unfortunate if Wade or Embiid start.

Question: why Lowry over Thomas or DeRozan?
Fair question. It really was a coin flip between Lowry and Thomas for me. Lowry's mastery of the pick-and-roll this season has been beautiful to watch and led Toronto to having the second-best offense, statistically, in NBA history. But Thomas could get that spot and I would have no issue with that.

I wouldn't have too much of an issue with DeRozan getting that spot. His footwork this season has been Kobe-level good. But when I watch the Raptors and DeRozan sits but Lowry plays, Toronto still is better than the other team. But when DeRozan plays without Lowry - and the Raptors have tried this with multiple lineups at various points in the game, it is not like people complaining about Kyrie sans LeBron - the Raptors are a fairly mediocre unit.

At this point, though, that second guard position is personal preference. With how Wall has looked the past few weeks, or how Kemba has played this season, I think they both could justifiably get that spot, too.

I'm totally against Wall making it at all, unless there's an injury. I'm sorry. I know he's putting up really good numbers. It's not like his team isn't very good talent wise either. He's playing with talent.

Beal is having a breakout year. Porter has turned into a really good player. Gortat is still a very good center.

And his team can't even get a playoff birth right now? Seriously? If this were Kyrie fans would be going ballistic. You can't lead that team to the playoffs?

I am not sure he's that liked by opposing teams either. He comes off as a real jerkoff.

I hope he doesn't make it.

Get this out there onto the interwebs bro!!

We gotta spread the word.. This is the New Gospel: Harden and Westbrook; starting backcourt for the ASG!! Who says no?!

:chuckle:
Cmon Russia, we know you love sticking your nose in our elections. Get Curry out of there!

Actually, I take that back. I think Wall deserves it over George. George is clearly having the poorer year of the two, and his team isn't doing shit either.

I don't know if they're going to have that many point guards on the roster though: Kyrie and Lowry are locks. Thomas and Walker should make it over Wall IMO. So 5 guys? I don't know. Seems a bit of stretch.

But, I'll admit it's hard to justify George deserving it more than Wall.

They should have one flex position that could be either a guard or forward. Since they took center out (which was a good move), I think this would be a good move too. Granted I just came up with it and haven't thought about it long, but it would open more possibilities.

East could go Kyrie, Butler, Giannis, LeBron, Love.

West could go Curry, Westbrook, Harden, KD, AD.

Not saying Kawhi doesn't deserve it more than Steph. Or Demar or Lowry or Thomas over Butler or Love, but it's just an example.

Tristan going nuts retweeting everyone who voted for him. The Kardashians trying to get him in too, Khloe retweeting everyone as well :chuckle:

LeBron and Giannas on the same team will be fun to watch.

It can't go that way. It's goes to guards (two slots) and forwards (three slots). You can't have three guards start.

EDIT: My bad I was in the middle of cooking dinner. Didn't read your entire post. You think they should allow this.

Good to see King Kyrie handedly over "the Decompressor" this year where he should be. Although I'm sure all of Canada will make their last second push for the Decompressor like they did last year.

Good to see Zaza has nearly ascended into his final form. Throwing a vote his way so he passes Coward Durant. It's only right.

I mean if Zaza can get over 400k votes...

Problem is TT would be taking Love's spot! :chuckle: Sorry TT.

So is Love a lock, it's just whether or not he starts?

That would be so dope to have 3 starters in the all-star game. In 1993 we were represented by Price, Daugherty and Nance but they were all reserves.

Another reason why JR's injury blows is I think he would have finally been invited to the 3-pt contest. The fact that he's been omitted every year is bullshit.

He's a lock. And I think he's going to start. I'd say 75% chance he starts.
