Kevin Durant has had James Harden, Russell Westbrook and Steph Curry as teammates. Has their ever been such a spoiled and coddled player in the history of this sport?

Best believe Curry Thompson Green Iggy will get more blame these finals if they lose

So I just read that in the games LeBron played Cavs strength of schedule is 2nd hardest and the team is 26-4, and 0-3 without him. Nothing's changed, he is still ahead of Westbrook, Harden is clearly a bigger problem at the moment.

That's actually pretty surprising. Must be due to the three Raptors games and the Warriors game. Haven't faced too many bottomfeeders either.

So... is there anyone still here that would take Klay Thompson over James Harden.

To start a team and build around, or to use as a wingman to an already established superstar?

For example, I'd take Klay on the Cavs over Harden any day of the week.

If we're drafting an NBA team from the current pool of players, Harden goes way before, however.

It's Harden's to lose at this point, unfortunately. Maybe if the Rockets end up with under 55 wins and the Cavs something like 64 or more, LeBron could steal it.

The fact that there is talk about LeBron "stealing" it is an issue.

I understand that people are excited about the numbers Harden & Westbrook are putting up but let's be real. LeBron is the singular most valuable player to his team.

Take him off the Cavs & Cleveland is a lottery team; with him they are title favorites.

Voters are just tired of voting for him I think. Doing a disservice to his legacy by doing that but it's whatever, he'll make it up by continuing to win rings & Finals MVPs.

Not coming @ you, just using your post to make a point.

I agree with everything you said. Unfortunately what LeBron is doing is pretty standard for him, whereas Harden is having a career year. If I was a voter I'd vote LeBron, but they've seen the same greatness from him for so long that I think they're desensitized to it, and the "story" this year is the crazy assists from Harden playing his new position of PG, and Westbrook averaging a triple double. Hopefully both OKC and HOU have significantly worse records so the "can you really give MVP to this guy his team only won XX games" can be made.

Even then... the Rockets were pegged in the 40-45 win range before the season started, based on over/under numbers. Even if they finish with 52-54, that's a huge overperformance, it still likely puts them in the top 4 in the west. They are probably the biggest positive surprise in a year where everyone seems to be falling short of expectations, so unless something dramatic changes, they might end up being showered with awards.

Harden's teammates don't play bad when he is off the court. However, media is all over him.

Time will tell.

The Rockets now have an ORTG of 115.6.

That is tied with the best of the Showtime Lakers (86-87) just behind this year's GSW for the best offense since possessions were tracked in 1978. I owe D'Antoni an apology. And Harden deserves kudos for the season he had.

Make no mistake about it, I would much rather have LeBron this year. But given that Harden ALMOST won the MVP 2 years ago, I think he is going to win it.

What the hell are the Rockets without Harden? Led by Trevor Ariza and Eric Gordon? A lottery team if I've ever seen one...

Reading comprehension is a skill.

Harden deserves the award this year. He's playing out of his mind and his team has a legitimate shot to place first in the West right now. No one saw this coming, especially with the Pringles guy at the helm.

So is painting? Ill let you go back and reread what you wrote so you can tell me what I didn't comprehend. The Rockets are playing like contenders with Harden and would be a lottery team without him. Complex stuff.

Harden deserves MVP. The Cavs being a lotto team without LeBron is actually pretty sad, considering we still would have two all-stars in the lineup. Take Harden off the Rockets and they don't have anyone close to an all-star....

Rockets are 30-9 right now. Unless they somehow start losing a lot more, Harden is locked into MVP.
