Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
At this point, things are getting a little more clear where QBs are going to be and what the lay of the land is.

What is every ones preferred direction for the Browns QBs?

1. Trade for Garoppolo (unlikely to happen IMO)
2. Trade for Kirk Cousins (unlikely to happen IMO)
3. Draft Davis Webb in the 3-4th round, run with Kessler, pick up a true backup QB like Ryan Nassib, wait out till next year and put all eggs in the 2018 QB basket.
4. Draft a QB with the 12th pick and let Kessler/Rookie QB duke it out.
5. Use Osweiler as bridge QB after no trade materializes, with Kessler as backup, and aim for 2018 draft.

Why would Cincy trade McCarron here? I thought Mike Brown had a grudge against us , plus we are a division rival.

Exactly, they wouldn't. Cincinnati isn't trading with us, and to top it off, they aren't trading us a QB who could be a FQB. There is no advantage at all for them to do that. Plus McCarron sucks.

Looking forward to someone forming an argument for taking Trubisky that doesn't involve saying "local kid, loves the Browns."

Not sure that argument is out there, however.

Well the reason why is he was a 5th round pick and its likely Cleveland would have to give up either pick 52 or 65 to get McCarron to be honest, which is a lot less than Grappolo plus he also has a couple years left on his contract as well so we will have time to decide on him before we would have to pay him. Cincinnati would do it since turning a 5th into a mid second or early 3rd round pick would be a smart business move. Now I am not sure if it would happen since it is in Division, but something tells me we actually cannot rule it out because of our coach who was his OC for a few seasons. Players like Jackson (hence why we were able to get Zeitler to come here), so it's a higher probability we get McCarron over Grappolo (who Mary Cay Cabot probably wants Cleveland to get so she can sleep with him).

Ummm... If the Browns take him it's because he was the top on their boards when it became their turn to pick in the draft! You cannot deny that logic since you always support BPA when drafting lol

Good one

Are you really not worried about Watson throwing 49 mph? One of the things I thought people were overrating with Watson was his arm. I don't think he can make all the throws. But then 49 came out and to me he's nearly undraftable until the 4th. That's a really really weak arm and I'm willing to bet he won't succeed

I am, that was definitely alarming and makes me do some reconsidering, especially at 12

I am doubtful that in a legitimate QB competition that Osweiler will win out against Kessler. The guy just sucks. Houston thought it was Denvers offense but that proved not to be the case.

AJ Mccaron was thought to be able to had for a 2nd round pick but that doesn't seem to be the case anymore.

Tobin commented on the matter just a week ago and stated they would prefer to not trade with a division rival but did not rule it out.

Bengals are still maintaining they want to ideally keep McCarron

If the Browns do not sign or acquire another quarterback and go with Osweiler as backup . They would still likely draft a qb in the 2nd or 3rd round. (hopefully not the 12th pick. )

You people aren't any fun on here lol

It's a Browns Quarterback Thread. Has any topic been less fun since about 1990? I'm off to be accused of being a total downer in a NAFTA Thread now...

Where the fuck is all this AJ McCarron talk coming from?

McCarron has been rumored to Cleveland just like Grappolo for awhile now, mostly cause Jackson is our coach, but not gotten the press of the main people like Grappolo has been.

This is true, but maybe we need to try and make it more fun, not like we have anything better to do.
