2017 Draft Prospects

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He has had a phenomenal season. His 3pt form is money, his mid range is money and he can defend. He isn't very tall for a SG but he is big and physical.
He might have trouble finishing over length and he projects imo to be a Marcus Smart type of player but you gotta look at him.

He goes to the line a lot though and he shot a bad percentage in all his previous 3 seasons.

He's gonna struggle mightily to get his own shot off in the NBA . His catch and shoot has definitely improved this year, but I'm not a big fan of this dude because I'm not seeing high level 3 and D type of guy. He's kind of a combo guard who might be able to hit open threes but I'm not sold on his defense at an NBA level.

He kind of reminds me of Khalif Wyatt, who was a big time scorer at Temple a few years ago. Big bodied guard, who just bullied people on both ends of the court.

I think Thornwell is in better shape than Wyatt was, but I'm not particularly high on him either.

Deonte Burton is an interesting guy...undersized at a generous 6'6", but he's a solid 250lbs, and is extremely skilled. Nice outside shot, good handle, plus athleticism. He reminds me a lot of Julius Randle (slightly less explosive than Randle, but better outside shot and total offensive game).

I doubt Burton gets drafted, but he could be instant offense off the bench in the right situation.

Or become the next Jimmy Graham in the NFL. Unfortunately, Deonte is basically a power forward at shooting guard height -- he's more like 6'4. Insane athlete for his size, but plays no defense. It's really a shame he isn't 6'7-6'8.

I wish Burton would defend. He could be like a shorter PJ Tucker with a way better offensive game. He's tough and strong and has a huge wingspan but he really doesn't look like an NBA defender at all when he plays. Damn shame. Maybe we can figure it out though, because that's his ticket to success right there.

It's a shame we don't have a pick in this draft, because I would take Jordan Bell from Oregon in a heartbeat.

he is a better TT, he is a mixture of Draymond Green without the passing(yet) and TT tbh. his defensive versatlity is absurd. He only has 6'11 wingspan but he gets the most out of it.I absolutely love him and this draft is just too deep.
His timing on the blocks is superb, he can defend 1-5 and is motor is endless.

If he develops a shot.. watch out.

There's a lot of hype for Malik Monk but, to me, his best case NBA comp is Jamal Crawford.

2018 is so top heavy... could change though but the Bigs in 2018 are so intriguing.
My love for Thornwell has gone way down after the game against Gonzaga.. he couldn't do shit.

I still like Jordan Bell despite the fact that he is going to have some trouble against 5's. His optimal position is a 4 but he needs to develop a shot. I think he can extend his range to the 3pt line eventually if he puts in the work.

Those failed boxouts against UNC is goung to haunt him for some time.

Stop. What makes Draymond who he is is the fact he can play point forward. He's really nothing like Draymond. He also averaged 2.2 blocks at Oregon in three years. When TT played his only year at Texas he averaged 2.4, so assuming it will translate isn't the best idea.

If he makes it in the NBA, he'll be an energy big at best.

Making prospect declarations based on the tourney is an incredibly risky thing to do.

(And he's not better than TT, nor is it likely he ever will be)

I excluded the passing. I said he was a hybrid between TT and Dray defensively. He is better than TT on offense though and is atleast proejcted to be better.

Why did you use his blocking numbers per game and not per 40? his blocking numbers are better than TT, he just plays less minutes.
His Assist numbers, steals, FG%, FT% are all signifcantly better.

Why is it likely for him to never be better than TT? what does really TT do that well that surpassing him is going to be that hard?
Yes, TT has a bigger body and is longer and he does specific things well but he has no basketball skills.

Bell has the same rebounding numbers as a freshman, better BLK% and has better timing aswell.. he is a better defender overall.
He is not a center though, he can't guard NBA centers in the post I don't think. His defensive and offensive ceiling are just higher than TT.

I'm not saying that he is going to be better than TT at the Pros because most college players don't succeed but he is arguably better than TT at the college level.
Don't forget that TT wasn't very good before Lebron came.

Even if i'm wrong, it's not that far fetched.

2018 draft is going to be a crapshoot where we pick. Even 1-7 isn't that impressive.
Don't like anyone in 2018, wish we could trade that pick.

There is going to be Some decent starters in the 2017 draft where we were supposed to pick. It's very rare to have so many intriguing players so late in the draft.

well we bought a pick last year and Felder has not been playing at all. I think he will stick though since we have not released him at this point.
Wonder if we will buy another 1 this year? probably not with Osman set to come stateside next season.
If we do have the opportunity to grab any of the big upside prospects if they fall to the mid 2nd like Cam Oliver,Kobi Simmons or Yurtseven , I am in.
But we would more than likely only do it for a more proven & less project ready prospect like Kingsley,Bell,Boucher,Blossomgame etc.
