2017 Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It is acceptable to stay quiet and not force discussion that has nothing to do with football til the season starts too, just sayin'..

Fucking.Thank.You.

DeAngelo Williams doesn't wanna play for us for business reasons.

What the fuck are we going to do now?!

My season tickets came in the mail yesterday. It was very fancy. I was impressed.

The silence from the Browns/Berea right now is almost unprecedented. Even with the Peppers contract situation still looming, it doesn't seem like the Browns are creating unnecessary bad press. Obviously, there's still time for me to eat crow about this statement, but from mini-camp through today it has been encouraging. Hopefully training camp into the season takes a similar tone; this team needs to have tunnel vision towards getting better on game-day.

Also, I was amused by Joe Banner's tweet today. A little smartest man in the room microcosm. :chuckle:

That's because they're working on getting Le'veon Bell

Wait, what? :chuckle:

Don't you think the Browns have showed their hand with regard to RB value after all of this Crowell talk?

Crow is not Le'Veon Bell.

No, but it sure feels like they don't intend to overpay for a RB. I might be wrong.

Anyways, was this just your imagination, or have you heard this?

It's my dream :):):)

I don't think making Le'Veon Bell or David Johnson the highest paid RB is an overpay. If you're going to give out the biggest contract to a RB it better be one of them. Still don't even know what kind of deal Bell is looking for but I'm positive we have the ability to give it to him. Could you imagine him behind this line. Oooooooohhhhhhh the impact that Bell could have on Kizer as a rookie ca't be measured.

The level of awesome Bell would be behind this line is roughly equal to the lack of interest level he has in playing for Cleveland.

$$$$$$$$$$

Throwing an oft injured running back a bad contract can be done by plenty of teams.

With relevance far beyond what Cleveland currently has. They're just never going to be a major free agent destination.

I read earlier that Bell said he's a RB and a WR. This reminds me a little of what happened to Jimmy Graham when he was tagged. Maybe Bell just feels like he should be paid based on what he brings to the table. He did say that he doesn't think PIT values his contributions as much as he does.

Maybe they are set on just paying him like a RB and they're not willing to pay him like an impact player. The injuries are concerning but I think he can get a hefty payday without the team being hamstrung.

No fucking way I throw stupid amounts of money at Bell. I would rather take Barkley or Guice in the draft or see if we can give a reasonable contract to Crow. If Crow has another productive season, he will get great offers. If they are too rich, don't overpay. Draft one of the two mentioned above.

Free agents I wouldn't mind going for?

Watkins - I know this sounds dumb and injuries, but if he has a productive season, we need another WR next year. Shit, maybe two. Once again, don't overpay on a guy like him, but if we can beat out a team and it's not a crazy deal, I would do it.

Jordan Matthews - still young and not a touchdown machine, but productive with yardage

Allen Robinson - See Jordan Matthews, but has the potential (2 years ago) to break the fuck out.

Kam Chancellor - We love our older secondary players. 30, not too old, but can still fill a need.

Xavier Rhodes - not that old. Coming off a nice season. See if he can do it again.

Devonta Freeman - He is going to want stupid money b/c his contract is legit for the Falcons right now. Will he want as much as Bell? He is only 25 and can be our feature back (he doesn't want to split time - see Coleman) and it seems PoopDick may not be our answer (had 870yds total, but only 1 TD) Plus, Freeman has only missed 1 NFL game with a minor concussion. But same with Bell, if it is crazy ass money, might be better to pass and take one of the stud rookie RB's (if they continue to dominate). But damn, just like Bell, imagining Freeman behind our line.

DeAndre Hopkins - Never missed a game. Stud. But $$$$. Plus would he want to come to cold CLE after playing in HOU? Maybe that can be our "fuck you" to HOU if they get Melo :chuckle:

----I am not going to mention QB's like Garoppolo or Stafford b/c we have no fucking clue how our QB's are panning out yet. And we just took Kizer.
