Derrick Rose: Outta Here!

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
A lot people feel kyrie can score a will inside.

2016-17
Kyrie 2pt attempts 13.6 with 6.9 makes

Rose 2pt attempts 14.2 with 7 makes

Their career 2pt% shooting is nearly identical too

Rose's eFG% is lower because 2pt% is more efficient then his 3pt%. He knows this that's why his 3pt attempts are so low

Kyrie is the opposite. His 2pt shot is less efficient then his 3pt shot and obviously why his eFG% is higher then his 2pt%

But the inside stats show they are equally deadly

Kyrie shot 50.5% from 2 last year, Rose shot 48.7% from 2, plus Kyrie has a deadly 3-point shot and Rose has no 3-point shot. So Kyrie is better from 2 and in another world from 3, which is why Kyrie was 41st in the league in eFG% last year while Rose was 101st in the league.

So while I agree with you that Rose was surprisingly efficient from 2 last year, he's just not in Kyrie's league as a scorer.

DRose is a great pickup for the minimum for us. I hope we're not counting on him to replace Kyrie though.

I'm not disagreeing with you. Those 3's put kyrie on another level.

As for 2pt% your talking about 1.8% difference and kyrie last year had his best year from 2pt%

Infact kyrie had career high in 2pt% the last 3 years. Could that have something to do with the best floor spacers he ever played with?

You could argue that korver Love and JR combine are the best combination of floor spacers Rose has ever played with and if not certainly better then NY

Either way we both agree it is a good pick up for the money and I'm sure we both are excited to see what transpires

Its hard to say what the rotation will be because a big piece or two have not been traded, but my guess is if Jr starts and Rose is a backup, they will play together only about 10 mins a game.

On the other hand, coach likes to sub out Love first and then bring him back with the backups along with Korver.

It really should lead to fantastic spacing for Rose having atleast 2 if not 3 40% 3 point shooters (If Frye survives the offseason trades, he will get his 20 mins a game off the bench with Rose)

It is interesting that I heard Lebron recruited Rose and Green to Cleveland. In 2010 he was silent. Now Kyrie is the one who is silent and Lebron is actively recruiting... hmmm...

Watching DRose highlights and man he looked quite explosive. Obviously not as explosive as he used to be. Or the leaping ability combined with that ferocity but he went past defenders quite easily. Imagine having someone like him coming off the bench to just go off against the second unit.

Agree that he can be very useful as guy on second unit that can get own shot. Become infinitely more worried if he starts.

Did he "recruit" Rose or did market dry up and he had pretty much nowhere to go (hence the min offer even from Lakers)

He could have easily said F it and let Rose figure it out himself and go to LA. So I'd say he did his part.

This is the article i was referencing.

LeBron James is reportedly out there doing whatever he can to help the Cavaliersget better. He's recruited players like Derrick Rose to Cleveland, but one player he and the Cavs can't seem to reach is Kyrie Irving.

To be fair. Kyrie was hurt that series.

Only the first 30 seconds were from the playoffs.

Also, it is no surprise that Rose is able to score on Kyrie. Half the board could score on Kyrie.
