Week 5: Jets @ Browns

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can he take responsibility for anything?

To be fair, the question asked to him was if the defense was deflated by them going for it on 4th down and he said no. he followed that up by saying that the d was encouraging him to go for it saying that "they got it" if they didnt convert. he also said several times that his logic for going for it was that if they converted he thought they would win the game, and if they didn't he thought the d would stop them. In the press conference, it didn't come across like he was deflecting blame.

As far as mary kate's quote about kizer calling the audible, he explained what kizer saw and why he audibled to that play. He also said that he was okay with the audible because they executed that audible well in practice.

He also was asked about giving up play calling, which he said he would do if he thought it would help (i think it would help fwiw), but he said its more about execution and coaching the qbs to keep the ball in our possession and not to turn the ball over.

Hue has been horrible with clock management and has appeared overwhelmed with his duties this year. He is mostly responsible for losing the game today, but he was not throwing his players under the bus. He was literally just answering questions asked of him.

So the defense actually knows how expected points works? Fire Hue and let them manage game situations and time outs.

Every 2-3 years you guys say that firing coaches and front offices isn’t a way to build success and every 2-3 years you want these guys fired.

It is clear is day the intentions of this team yet every week we have people in here pinning everything on one person. The team is tanking. On purpose? No, but when you put together a roster like this you are making your intentions clear. Stop bitching. Y'all know the damn deal.

What exactly does firing Hue or Sashi do right now? Immediately start another rebuild on top of a rebuild that's in year two? No. Please don't let yourself get hooked. You know damn well that they are tanking lol. If you're gonna go to the games have a good time. If you're gonna watch then find something to look forward to. If you can't do that then why are you here? What the hell are you looking for? Why are you watching? Seriously. I know why I'm watching. Young players and a team being built from the ground up. I want to see it through. You do have a choice on watching or not. Please find something to be excited about if you watch.

Njoku was great today. Kirksey was smacking. Myles is as advertised and he's clearly not 100%.

I don’t think they were planning to be one of the worst teams if not the worst team in the NFL after two drafts and two off seasons. This reminds me a bit of when when everyone loved Chris Grant. Made some great trades for extra picks, but did not draft enough quality players to show any progression. Myles Garett was a no brainer that 95 percent of front offices would have done. The tight end from Miami looks like a nice pick, but the WR position is still a black whole and now qb is becoming unclear yet again.

They did not do thier due diligence on Kenny Britt and his personal issues, and they have passed up a ton of solid NFL players on both drafts over many players who look average at best. Interesting so many here feel good about a team with so many question marks after so many draft picks.

If Kizer is going to get benched for a significant amount of time than you are pretty much forced to take either Donald or Rosen if you have a top two pick next year.

Kirksey, Shelton, Thomas, Bitonio and Duke Jonhnson five of the six best players on the team were already here. Besides Myles and Njoku I think there is a lot left to be desired.

I would not just assume everyone returns for year three. There needs to be more signs of life the rest of the year. It is comical that someone posted that players like Higgins and Louis are part of the core going forward. A ton of people are convincing themselves that these draft picks are better than what is actually being seen on Sundays. Hopefully things pick up, but I think the jury is still out for sure.

I don’t think anyone is saying fire these guys on Monday morning. But I think you need to take a very honest look at what the team looks like at the end of week 17. Have you identified a franchise qb? Have you put together many players toward a young core on both sides of the ball. People forgot that despite the failure of the past regime they did add kirksey, bitonio, Shelton and duke Johnson. But that was still not enough to justify Farmer getting more years. Myles and David are nice young players for sure but it is hard to say this is def for sure working. A ton of assumptions are being made about players that are not proven very much so far. Most of the year this team has looked more like an expansion team and that is after a significant amount of draft picks. Is some of it bad luck? Poor coaching? Possible yes. But you still have a huge question mark in Sashi Brown. No other organization in football was even pondering giving him control of a 53 man roster. He has a legal background and not a player personnel one. There is even talk I have heard that he had to be talked into Garettt by the defensive staff and Hue with the first pick. We all hope this works, but we can’t pretend there are not some dark clouds above us and that everything is looks great.

Yes there was a thread about the next six games after the Ravens game where people said we would win three to four of them. The same people are now saying no one should be surprised that this looks like a two or three win team at best. After two drafts and over 18 picks you should be better than that. Have they made some good moves? yes. But the idea that thie was going to be a horrible team this year and we all knew it is def revisionist history by many people.

I even saw a post saying we should be excited if they win four to five games next year lol in year three of the rebuild.

People thought we were going to go 3-0 in that stretch, or 3-1. Absolutely absurd, looking back. Even at the time I knew it was absurd.

I didn't get to watch the game, but from what I can tell Hogan needs to be the starter while Johnson is the starter at RB/have both Crowell and Johnson on the field and have Johnson go out as a slot WR.

I had more hopes for this roster than what they are showing and I think we all agree we did as well, but it is way too soon to blow up this team at all and the FO needs to tell Jackson in due time, either you find some help calling plays or you are out of here if this keeps up.

I actually do not think the FO has done a bad job at all so they need to be kept for at least two more seasons and Jackson for one more season (if the team starts becoming competent).

Do you guys think Hogan can become a Hoyer for us in a sense?
