Theoretically Ante Zizic

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lol a good scrimmage and a nice debut everyone's excited. Two poor games and everyone turns on him.

Like who? They are all gone. We are out of roster spots and Willie Reed, Withey, Eric Moreland, Dedmon of the world are taken.
We are left with a giant stiff in Tavares and a rookie that isn't ready yet.

What about David Lee?

No one is turning on Zizic.. I'nm only talking about how he looks physically right now and he isn't ready in that regard. Still, he played 22 minutes and finished with 7/7/1/1/1 and +2.

Lee is a PF and we need a rim protector. Doesn't matter really, we have no roster spots left anyways.

Not turning on him. Liked the Summer League highlights I saw as well as the scrimmage.

Just trying to respond to what's taken place the last two games.

And part of that is realizing he may not be able to help this year and we're very small up front.

He's a rookie, guys. He's probably not going to be golf this year.

And the Cavs are fine in the front court. James, Love, Crowder, TT, Green, Frye will work. Team has the had a true rim protector in two years. It's not a need.

I thought he looked great today. He is much closer to contributing than people think. He needs some reps. Game is fast yet for him. I think he is plenty athletic, just not used to not being the most.

We made the finals despite of Lue. Look at the regular season. We were losing games at a crazy clip. If it wasn't for INSANE performances by LeBron and Kyrie in 2016 4 straight games in a row and Draymond being suspended a game, we would have lost the finals 3 times in a row. And even then, we won by a hair. As much as you say there isn't evidence with Lue being a terrible coach, you're attributing all of the success to Lue and not the fact that we've severely underperformed in the regular season with 3 of the top 10 players in the Eastern conference, lost easy games to teams that we didn't even need LeBron for, had terrible bench production with LeBron off the floor, ect.

If you can't blame a 16 point difference between LeBron on and off the bench in +/- on the coach, you have to blame it on the players. Who he chose to play. So it's still on him. Also, let's not forget how terrible the defense was. Watching basketball last season was hell. LeBron is not going to want to play at 100% all games all season. Understand why he's in chill mode since it's season 15. But if you can't muster up a single fucking win with Kyrie and Love, you're doing something wrong.

Now, he's still a young coach and I do think he has the ability to change. He's done some good things. His ATO plays are great. But his timeout timing (even in important games) has been awful, rotations poor, defensive strategies lacking, offense with LeBron off the floor shit, and so on.

Was Mike Brown a good enough coach to win 60 games two years in a row? None of the teams outside of Golden State that we have faced in the finals 3 years in a row are anywhere near as good as the teams we faced in the playoffs then. Maybe Toronto two seasons ago. But come on... We have LeBron fucking James on our team and you're still pushing Lue as a good coach when you've watched the games... Seen his dumbfounded looks... Listened to his terrible post game interviews... Seen what he's done with the rotations... Watch the finals we won again. Tell me how many of those baskets were 1 on 1 or fast breaks.... C'mon dude. I've seen you defend Lue so often and it just pains me to think we could have a coach who currently knows how to coach. I'm hoping he can turn it around with LeBron and Wade together. Maybe study some game tape. But to literally play every game like it's against the Warriors by starting Love is already just a poor long term plan. To me, Ty Lue is to coaching what the 3rd quarters were to Mike Brown on the Cavs...

At the risk of beating a dead horse, I am so surprised that so many Cavs fans buy into this viewpoint. First of all, one of our Big Three (Love) also missed a game that series that we ended up losing, so that evens things up. Secondly, and more importantly, Draymond played 6 games that series, and GS went 3-3 in those 6 games...meaning the Cavs were just as likely to win when Draymond played as GS was. Can we please quit selling our own victory short? The only victory that should be sold short is 2015, when Love and Irving missed the entire series and we still won 2 games, lost a 3rd in OT, and the other 3 were all 6-point games or less in the 4th qtr before complete exhaustion set in, as we had a very short bench because our bench was starting due to the injuries!

I'll go a step further and say that last year's Finals looks worse than it really was. The worse series score possible after 5 games is 4-1. But the closest possible is 3-2, which is only a one game difference. And we totally blew Game 3. We shot 12-44 from 3, which is very abnormal from a great 3-point shooting team. Meanwhile, they shot 16-33, which was almost 10% higher than their average. And even with them shooting hot and us ice-cold, we were up with 50 seconds left. If the Cavs win that game, the series is 3-2 with every home team winning, and Game 6 in Cleveland. A series can't get much closer than that! Sure, GS deserved to win last year...it just wasn't nearly as bad as the final series score indicates.

Great analysis. You need to post more often!

It's not turning on him, it's reevaluating him based on new information and a greater sample size. Not only does the game look fast, but he looks a step slow. He needs to shed a few lbs and get lighter on his feet. He seems to move himself into the right spots and has shown great footwork, it's just getting there quicker. He obviously needs more reps as well. I think he'll be someone that benefits from the D-league.

good post, but the reason not to look back to 2015-16 isn't that the victory was in any way tainted, but that they added Durant and that was transformative. I think we had the number of the pre-Durant Warriors and could have beaten them last year as well. But adding Durant just takes things to a whole other degree of difficulty.

I am a fantastic rim protector. After 45 years I still have a virgin ass.

Rim very well protected.
