The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I could care less about Star Cards.

Jump pack was about the only one I used regularly in the last game. Getting the heroes has more meaning to me personally.

The decrease is good enough for me to purchase the game again, as a massive Star Wars fan.
4,528 hours to unlock everything or 2100 dollars..... I love star wars too, and the game is really fun, but this is horse shit.

That is... a fucking absurd number of hours. Doesn't even include DLC. (which is free though)

I think most people would prefer paying for DLC to this. 60 dollar season pass vs 2100 dollars. Yeah, easy decision.

I actually canceled my preorder when that reddit came out. I almost went back to the dark side, but I saw they also cut credits rewarded in other places. Not worth the hassle at this time, I will probably wait until after Christmas to make a purchase decision. The game overall look and played fantastic.

It's worth noting that they intend to keep this game around for awhile as a game service type of title and constantly adding things to the game that you can spend money on via lootboxes will fund on going development. As such a lot of things are subject to change.

If they clean up their act and focus more on cosmetic items, or maybe add sidegrade type heroes that you can pay for it's something I would be willing to buy because the game is fun.

For instance, rainbow six siege adds new operators every season that you can pay for with in game currency or you can pay for them with a season pass. With the money they receive from that (and being able to purchase skins) they constantly make improvements, balance changes, and add new maps.

Why couldn't they do something like this that doesn't give anybody really large gameplay advantages? The default operators in that game are very powerful, so it isn't like you can't compete if you don't have the newer operators. They could do the same thing in this game by constantly adding heroes, more skins, emotes, ect. These star cards are just rubbish.

I believe this is the plan, is it not?

They haven't even put all heroes in the original game, because more will be rolling out. Getting Star Cards as you go will be easy I'd assume, but there will surely have to earn the new heroes. ie Grevious, Obi Wan (old and young), Mace Windu, Jango Fett, etc.

They've already said as much. I also believe they'll have skins as well, seeing how they did in the last game with Hoth Luke, Han and Leia.

No, it will not be easy to get star cards. Have you read any of the links I posted? 18 matches to get one lootbox and you aren't guaranteed to get the star card you need. My entire problem with this game is the fact that they have the star cards and how long it takes to build your character up in a game where there shouldn't be progression. This isn't an MMORPG, and no MMO I have ever player has required that many hours to max your guy out. It's absolutely absurd.

It took me like a decade of playing Team Fortress 2 to hit 4500 hours. You could try that with Star Wars, but EA will shut down the servers in two years. :chuckle:

Naw, they still have a ton of old battlefield servers up. They intend for this to be a game as a service, so they aren't looking to make a battle front 3 as much as keep this alive by continually adding stuff to buy which funds more content.

The amount of hours needed to get all this stuff as it stands is just asinine.

It really depends how this game does. If they have tons of concurrent users there won't be a need. Obviously eventually it will happen, but I could see this lasting 4-5 years depending on the users.

The way they've managed to get a big portion of their fan base to boycott the game before it even comes out probably won't help them.

Yeah, well, people are idiots. There will be al ot of people that will buy the game like me if they make improvements. They can do another marketing campaign and be back in the saddle if they play their star cards right.

Anyone looking for a break from the loot crate insanity currently plaguing the games industry should go buy a Switch and play Mario Odyssey.

That game is pure magic and the post credits end game stuff is damn cool.

Why in the holy name of heck are you playing this game. I mean it is life changing and helped me like SMB3 did get over a family death. Buy this system with BotW and Mario Odessey.
