As far as IT goes, there’s no reason to think he wouldn’t have eventually looked similar here than he does in LA once he got back in shape physically.

At least offensively. The reason why I have no qualms about trading him is because we would still be a disaster on defense.

Jae has played worse. That I agree with.

IT had picked it up the last few games after a slow start and looks closer to his older self. This is a fact.

Hood has played worse on the Cavs, Clarkson has played worse on the Cavs. Nance has benefited from playing with better players and on a contending team. Every great PnR Roll Man that is a decent defender will look better playing with LBJ.

Don't care about Rose and Shump.

It's really not that hard to see and understand why it's much harder for perimeter players to develop and succeed here. Lack of practice, in season conditioning and lack of system play a role.

Clarkson is shooting FAR better in Cleveland, and Hood is shooting basically the same (actually better from the field) with fewer shots.

The team is practicing. There are numerous articles and quotes from coaches and players talking about how they're basically in training camp and running longer practices than usual in order to get guys acclimated.

Your vendetta gets super annoying sometimes, you know? You bring up legitimate criticisms, but you undermine them by bringing up things not based in reality.

This is flat out wrong. Both players have worse advanced stats on the Cavs and get less touches on offense than on their former teams.

I don't care how they shoot, I care about their impact, overall performance and their role in the offense.

Vendetta? against who?

Both Clarkson and Nance had comments about the Cavs lack of practice compared to the Lakers. IT said the same thing. They can say whatever they want and hold even more practice sessions, but there is no way they are ran with nearly the same intensity. Players still have no idea about the plays and their role in the offense.

You don't really have to read my posts. Put me on ignore if it gets super annoying or just "suffer" through it.

Hood's O rating is better here, his D rating is about the same, net rating improved. His EFG% is up, TS% down slightly, AST/TO has improved.

Clarkson is better across the board here than he was in LA. Nance's impact on the floor is bigger here than in LA.

And of course Hood and Clarkson get fewer touches (though Clarkson's usage is almost the same), they're playing with more weapons and guys that need shots.

I don't know where you are looking at really.

Hood's ORTG is now 107(was 104), His DRTG is 114(was 109). His Per is down from 15.4 to 11.4, his WS is down, his OBPM is down.

Clarkson ORTG is up to 111(was 106,), his DRTG is 114(was 111), His Per is slightly higher and his WS is slightly higher, but I predict both to balance out back to career averages.

I forgot about Hill in my first post as well, he has been decisively worse as a Cavalier. Like a lot of other PGs that come play here.

So a common theme, individual players DRTG routinely goes down once they join the Cavs since they play awful team defense.

Another problem is the huge defensive efficieny difference once players join the Cavs(discluding Bigs).

Rodney Hood was in the 40th Percentile this season and is now in the 11th Percentile.

Jordan Clarkson was in the 75th Percentile in defensive efficiency, now he is in the 22nd Percentile.

Korver was in the 80th Percentile going back to 2014-2015 to right before the trade in 2016-2017(that includes the down year because of the injury), and was all the way down to 5th Percentile once he was traded to the Cavs.

It's really not a coincidence.

As for Nance, I have no idea why you brought him up since I specifically said he is better and the kind of player that benefits from playing with better players.

Lol, who needs shots more than Clarkson and Nance other than Lebron? What weapons? TT, George Hill and Green?

I don't know why you can't concede the notion that our issues start at the core with the coaching and lack of system? Player should convincingly play better on the Cavs than their non contending team... Every player that you plug in to the Warriors and Houston all show major improvements in all areas and fit seamlessly.

I was foolishly excited when I heard about the Cavs getting IT.
After watching him I soon realized his size hurt every aspect of our defense.
Too small to prevent anyone from backing him down. Too short to closeout. Too short to rotate. Too short to rebound. ect..
His offense makes no difference. He will never help another team win in the playoffs.

As far as the Cavs offensive system I think half the problem is Lebron.
He doesnt keep moving. He picks his spots the same way he picks his passes.
It slows everything down. The other half of the problem is that Lue is more of a puppet than a coach.

IT is defensive cancer, we of all teams can least afford that, never wanted him and glad he is gone. I don't care if he piles up some offensive stats.

As for our situation now, I feel like we finally have a roster that is well-rounded enough that we can really tell if the problem is coaching or not. When we had Kyrie and Lebron I didn't think there was much of an offensive system that could improve on those two ISO-ing and kicking out to three point shooters, and I couldn't tell how much of the defensive issues were because of Kyrie + Love being the spine of our defense. Now we have players who need an offensive system to thrive, and who have the physical skills to give us a great team defense. The coaching staff needs to fucking deliver.

...He's 3-12, 1-6 from three and a -6 on the floor.

Sounds like Cleveland IT to me.

He’s not playing with the greatest of all time therefore his play looks good compared to the scrubs out there on the lake show

He still has impact though. He was unbelievably bad as a Cavalier... like out of the league bad.

They are better with him on the floor, he runs the team pretty well...he just can't hit shots.

Anyway, I'm not losing sleep at all about it, but let's be honest, we know why he looked so so shitty.

I don't like him as a person(in interviews and his demeanor on the floor) or as a player, but he had no chance here from the get go.

No idea why we traded for him.

He ended up 5-21 and was a -17 in a game they lost by 5

Sir Dom did you have a stroke?

Isaiah came up short yet again tonight.

I tried telling many, many people he'd NEVER ever come close to the season he had last year. Even if he was healthy and never got hurt.

It was an anomaly. He never came close to that before, and never will again.

It was a bad mistake if we really thought he'd replace Irving. That was a very bad assumption to make.
