The "What are you playing now?" Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I play fortnite with a mouse and keyboard on PS4 and building is actually harder in my experience. You can’t hotkey, it’s still scrolling through the menus. It feels a little more cumbersome. I use the mouse and keyboard because I’m a long time pc gamer and I’m more comfortable than with a controller in a game that requires aim. I find killing people a thousand times easier due to that comfort level.

Building is definitely the key thing to practice though. Couldn’t tell you how many 2nd places I’ve gotten because I murder everyone I see when it’s chaotic but then when it gets down to the last couple people I get beat by someone who outbuilds me and uses it to their advantage.

Thanks.

This kind of turns me off of using a mouse and keyboard, as I’ve never used them before. Although I’m sure once I got used to it it would do wonders for my overall aim/headshotting etc.

Guess it’s something I’m going to sit on for a while.

I've increased my sensitivity to 7 on Ps4 to try to help with being quicker shooting. Which I don't think there has been much change yet but once I get used to it, I might continue to increase it.

It might be worth it to switch to mouse and keyboard for shooting accuracy alone. I notice that most streamers on PC, nearly always hit headshots in close quarter combat, on all of their shotgun shots, which is huge. And when they snipe, they zoom in directly on the player, sometimes even right on their head straight off the jump. It's very hard to get that sort of precision on controller, I zoom in somewhat near them, but then have to try to adjust the crosshairs and line a shot up. Which even a couple of seconds makes a huge difference. The good PC players basically quick scope at any range.

Been playing a lot of Darkest Dungeon lately. Really enjoying Radiant Mode. It reduces so much of the grind that turned me off to the game in the first place.

Did have a classic Darkest Dungeon moment the other day, though. Went to do a level three (which is like the medium difficulty) dungeon for a boss fight. Got to the boss and fucking obliterated him. Barely even took any damage.

Naive bastard that I am, I decided to push on to try to earn a little extra money. Left the boss room and a random fight spawned in my hallway. Three of these little fuckers that vomit on you and cause disease. Not a terribly difficult fight most of the time. All three of them, in a row, go first one by one and target my crossbow chick. All three of them give her three very horrific, crippling diseases.

I just fucking laughed. Sometimes the game just decides it's going to fuck you and all you can really do is bend over and try to enjoy it.

On the plus side, the next fight was with enemies from the DLC, who give you the Crimson Curse. Naturally, they targeted the crossbow chick and immediately infected her with it. Not idea, but it does wipe out all other diseases, so at least there's that.

Just got that game -- Steam sale from Christmas or something. For as dumb as it looks, it's a really well-designed game. I'm doing decently, but I tried to go with a new combination of characters, and ended up not balancing their skills very well. Ended up in a fight where nobody could hit the enemy in the first position.

That didn't end up well.

Good to know we have more pc gamers here! I usually have one single player game that im playing while I have a rotation of multiplayer games.

I'm playing dying light; which can be both played as single or multiplayer, and right now i'm mostly playing battlefield 1 with some overwatch and team fortress 2 thrown in for good measure.

I'm excited about the next battlefield going back to world war 2. Dice hasn't done a world war 2 game on pc in forever, and it's my favorite era for shooters.

Dying light was great. I never really did the multiplayer, but the single-player was an awesome game. It was a blast doing that grappling hook at night while being chased -- like Spiderman on crack.

You can do everything in coop and there is also invasions at night. It's been a lot of fun. It can be terrifying at night. I need to find the recipe for that grappling hook. I've seen it in multiplayer while i'm earthbound.

Yeah, you have to be really careful about how you balance your parties in that game, as the difficulty level, especially on later missions, doesn't leave you a lot of room for error. There are some really cool combinations, though, and I used to find myself spending five to ten minutes trying to put together the perfect party for the mission I had chosen.

RDR2 is now scheduled to release October 26th.

I can not wait. I've been waiting for this game for years. Red Dead is probably my favorite game ever and one of the few only must have franchises for me.

And it's suppose to have a Battle Royale mode!? This is going to be the best game ever. I don't expect it to be half as good as Fortnite or anything obviously, but that is still a sweet bonus. I'm not even a guy that cares a ton about the story. I just love being in the Wild West universe. It's so awesome.

Addicted to Bloodborne right now, but I only want to play in like 1-2 hour spurts because it's so difficult and can be stressful. Really though even early on I can tell it's a phenomenal game. From the atmosphere to the art style and the bosses (only done two so far)/enemy design, and the trick weapons and the very tight combat, fuck man. I feel myself inching along dark alleys, into nasty ass sewers, going slowly with this foreboding sense of dread because I'm terrified of what's around every corner. :chuckle: And wondering how I'm going to get my ass kicked next. Yet I'm urged to push on and I do. Too early to say but I feel like by the end this is going to be knocking on the door of my top 10 favorite games.

We'll see. So far my Playstation 4 purchase has been a resounding success. This is my third PS4 game and so far all three have been slam dunk AAA masterpieces, in my opinion (Uncharted 4 and The Last of Us before Bloodborne). God of War next month!

I was watching someone work on a no hit run of Bloodborne on Twitch and I was just like, dude, fuck off. First boss in that game beat my ass brutally. :chuckle:

Yeah, I've heard of people doing those in these games. I have no idea how/why somebody would subject themselves to that. They are far better players than me, that's for sure.

Did you beat the game?

I did not. I ended up selling my consoles and going PC only.

That no-hit stuff is...insane. Never played Bloodborne, but I played a lot of Dark Souls, so....

I have made it through that game at Soul Level 1 the whole way, which is fun. But some of the variations for difficulty that people come up with are pretty nuts.

I watched some of one guy's run, it was pretty nuts. Didn't watch the whole thing because I'm only a bit after the second boss.

I personally love doing challenge runs; I've been doing that kind of thing since the NES. Permadeath runs are especially fun... ;)
