Johnny Manziel: Swan Won't Return His Calls

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
It's official. If you wanted Manziel in the draft, you're a clown.

This is also another example as to why this idea that we should blindly accept whatever decisions general managers (and coaches) make because they know more than us is ridiculous.

I'm not suggesting anyone on this board could do a better job, but there's a reason why at least 4-5 coaches and 2-3 general managers get replaced every single offseason.

"How is it my fault that only an incompetent team would draft me?" (Scorpion, Frog)

He had 1 td and took 3 sacks in a glorified high school game last night. He took another six sacks after the game. 5 were attached to men while the sixth was wrapped up and had a white powdery substance in it.

Idiot was banned from the CFL for not meeting their rules regarding behavior and off-field stuff. They won't say what those were, but anyone with a brain can probably guess.

His idiot wife also cheated in a charity half-marathon.

Some quality people.

Manziel Released, Barred from other CFL Teams

The Montreal Alouettes released narcissistic noted idiot quarterback Johnny Manziel on Wednesday, saying he "contravened the agreement which made him eligible to play" in the Canadian Football League.

The CFL effectively said the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is terminated. The league informed the eight other teams that it wouldn't register a contract for Manziel if any tried to sign him. Montreal had his full rights for two seasons.

"We advised Montreal that Johnny had violated one of the conditions we had set for him to be in our league. And Montreal announced his release today," CFL commissioner Randy Ambrosie said in Vancouver. "We didn't release the terms of those conditions then and we're not going to do that now. "We're trying to do what we believe is in the best interests of the entire league. The conditions we set, we thought were the right ones. Those conditions have been violated and we feel it's best, and Montreal feels its best, to let Johnny move on. And we think it's best for our league that he do the same. And we wish him well.''

Alouettes general manager Kavis Reed told reporters that Montreal would not have released Manziel if the CFL did not mandate the move. "No, sir. Mr. Manziel's performance on the field showed that he had a very good upside, but Mr. Manziel violated the terms and we all understood those terms and we have to be compliant with them," Reed said.

Reed wouldn't give specifics about how Manziel violated the conditions of his agreement with the league.

"We are disappointed by this turn of events. Johnny was provided a great deal of support by our organization, in collaboration with the CFL, but he has been unable to abide by the terms of his agreement," Reed said in a statement. "We worked with the league and presented alternatives to Johnny, who was unwilling to proceed."

The quarterback posted on social media that he looks forward "to exploring new options." Yeah, like unemployment or gay porn. -Stannis

I want to thank Coach Sherman, my teammates, and the CFL fans. My time there reestablished my love for the game of football and the work that goes into it. I look forward to exploring new options within the United States. A source told ESPN's Kevin Seifert that Manziel violated a set of conditions set forth by the CFL when he originally signed in May 2018. Although the league never specified the terms, it said in a statement that they were "extensive and exacting" and were generated after an assessment from an independent expert on domestic violence.

The source did not believe that the release was a result of Manziel attempting to break his contract to play in an American developmental league. Manziel said recently on Barstool Sports' Comeback SZN podcast that he was intrigued by the prospect of playing in either the Alliance of American Football or the XFL, which begins operation next year. "It's great for football, it's great for the guys who need more opportunity, need more film and time to play,'' Manziel said. "I don't know exactly what my exact steps will be for the next years coming up, but at least there's a lot of options.

"Me and E.B. (agent Erik Burkhardt) are fully committed to playing ball and trying to get into the best situation possible and that's what it's all about.'' Manziel, 26, played for the Alouettes last season in an attempt to resurrect his career. In eight games, he completed 106 passes in 165 attempts for 1,290 yards, with five touchdowns and seven interceptions.

Montreal traded two players and two first-round picks to Hamilton last July for Manziel's rights. Manziel has dealt with several off-field issues. In 2016, a domestic assault charge against Manziel in Dallas was dismissed after he took an anger management course and participated in the NFL's substance abuse program. In a recent interview, he said he has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and has stopped drinking.

Manziel was taken in the first round, No. 22 overall, in the 2014 NFL draft by Cleveland. But following two tumultuous seasons, the Browns released the Tyler, Texas, native in March 2016 after he posted a 2-6 record as their starter. Manziel appeared in just 14 games with Cleveland, completing 147 of 258 attempts (57.0 percent) for 1,675 yards with seven touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also ran for 259 yards and a touchdown.

How does one top being dismissed by Canada? John will show us, I assure you. I don’t wish this but I wouldn’t be surprised if we read about an overdose at some point.

Getting banned for bad behavior by the XFL is probably the lowest professionally he can go.

I know Haslam had every right to pull advertising for Flying J from ESPN... but firing his front office in order to hire a "yes man" GM in order to personally draft Johnny Manziel should never be forgotten.

I was so pumped about Dorsey and Mayfield that I forgot Haslem is our owner until you just brought it up.
