Kawhi ?

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I like him, but man, I just don't think he's in that Anthony Davis category. Whom, I think has to be the most valuable asset in the league right now. 25 and really, really a fucking monster right now.

Fuck, I mean since Boogie went down, Davis has been averaging 30 ppg over 11 rpg, and 3 blocks per game. Those are elite numbers across the board.

I would offer the moon and stars for Davis. Leonard, I wouldn't.

Although our shitty lottery pick and Love, I don't think is the moon and stars.

Eh, Davis is in the same category as Westbrook for me. Massive box score totals year in and year out, but I'm not at all convinced he's a top-5 player in terms of actually winning basketball games. Great opportunity for both of those guys to change my mind this postseason, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think he's pretty good, man.

The Pelicans have been one of the most disastrous franchises in the league. They've have really awful guards (outside Holiday I've said before he's really good), bad draft picks, and really really bad coaching...

Not even a Boogie fan, he's not the right player paired with Davis.

If you put Davis with LeBron, they're winning it all IMO. That would be the most dominant pairing since Shaq and Kobe.

If not better....

However you evaluate it, Davis > Kawhi, Kawhi > Davis; as you said, Love+BKN pick is < Kawhi (healthy) < Davis .. So a trade centered around these two assets to get Kawhi, if possible, should be executed unless the Cavs can basically guarantee a better outcome -- and no, that outcome is not developing a drafted player with the pick...

If we get lucky as fuck, and get the number one pick.

I'm calling the Pelicans. And offering them the pick, Love, and Hill. For Davis and Holiday.

Fuck, throw in another pick. I think they got to at LEAST consider it.. Two years left, and I don't think he's staying IMO.

He's 25 and just won his first playoff game, ever. That franchise is terrible.

I think they consider it. They get out from under Holiday's long contract. Hill is on a short deal. They get Love, and the number one pick.

Man, we really need to get lucky as fuck IMO to have shot keeping LB. Because at this moment, I think he's definitely gone. Without a doubt.

I'm not denying that he's pretty good. I'm denying that he's Kawhi good. Kawhi has a finals MVP he earned against LeBron. He has two DPOYs under his belt. He looked ready to truck-stick through the Warriors last year before Zaza's hit job. There's no way I can put AD on his level when he hasn't come close to the same heights.

Think the coaching, system, organization, and culture is just the best compared to the Davis' situation.

Maybe AD could be the same caliber of player in the right system/organization. But I'll take Kawhi's proven greatness over AD's could-be greatness ten times out of ten (in a world where both are perfectly healthy, just to be clear).

If we want kawhi, all it will take is for lebron to reach out to him, and all that will take is for lebron to commit long term...given his personality, i dont think kawhi would be suited to a big market team like la, boston. Cavs would be a perfect fit and he and lebron would be the perfect combo (playing style , obviously chemistry is unpredictable)

If Kawhi is healthy why wouldn't the Celtics give up Batum and Brown for him? That's the best deal for the Spurs and starts a dynasty for the Celtics.

Kyrie
Hayward
Kawhi
Horford
Baynes

Rozier
Morris

As much as i hate the Celtics, Brad Stevens would turn that team into multiple championships.

Just went over to a spurs forum...man their is some disdain for kawhi? Alot of references to wiping his ass, whats the story there?

Don't know, but I can't blame them for hating him seeing as how he quit on the Spurs this year.

The Spurs would be more than happy to get Tatum and Brown for that slug Kawhi. Are you kidding? No way Boston is giving up those two, they're on their way to winning more championships soon enough with the addition of maybe one more good player. Unless of course Philly becomes the new dominate force in the East first which is likely to happen. It'll be all Philly and Boston in the East before you know it.

When Pop was just asked if Kawhi is out for the rest of the playoffs, he responded with something like, "You would have to ask him and his GROUP".

This further reinforces the belief that his uncle is controlling Kawhi's thoughts and urging him to go to a big market.

I think we've all acknowledged the Cavs wouldn't have the best offer if Kawhi is "healthy" ... The only way the Cavs would have an angle is if Kawhi is supposedly damaged goods.

Ainge has been notoriously stingy with his assets. I still stand firm that he is waiting out the Warriors. Brown and Tatum are on rookie deals and are giving him a substantial amount of output. Celtics win games, sell merch and save as much as they can for the eventual tax hell they will be in. Its honestly how all owners lucky enough to have so many talented players should think. If he competes before then, it is a bonus.
