2018 Cleveland Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
@Jack Brickman Honestly Coleman will have his chance to be essentially our number 3 WR, but that doesn't mean that Callaway or anyone else can't take it from him. He has to earn that spot and I don't think Dorsey is going to tell Jackson that Callaway has to play over him. I think you have to let the players duke it out and decide for themselves who should be where. The fact we have brought in a Landry, to go with a Gordon, we just need someone like Coleman, Callaway etc to step up and take that third spot. We have very good receiving TEs, with a solid scat back so our offense is looking better especially with a veteran like Taylor running the show. Dorsey needs to let this play out, and I think he will. We may see a trade or two at the end of the preseason as well especially if a guy like Coleman gets beat out for the third spot.

I think you ride w the depth. Between injuries and career risk w Gordon, we can’t have our season derailed by his loss. But dude the depth!
Gordon: Elite
Dirty Landry: pro bowler
Njoku: promising, physically gifted, working to get better. Pro Bowl level not out of the question.
Coleman: never had a guy to get him the ball. Jury still out. 1st round talent.
Callaway: TBD but high risk, high reward.
The Duke: excellent receiving back.
Hyde: good receiving back. Maybe lacks the quicks but great safety net.

There’s only one ball, but having better than average depth will be clutch. The defenses’ first priority will be making sure Gordon doesn’t shit on them. That can’t be done 1-on-1. Landry will eat up many number 2 corners, and god help a LB trying to cover Njoku. If he demands a safety, then Callaway and Gordon will certainly have their shots.

Oh and our OL is top 5 after some time to gel, and our running game doesn’t suck. Oh and our OC has had success and knows lots of detail about our biggest division rival. Oh and our division sucks.

WR isn’t a problem. Let’s keep it that way.

I wonder how many wins the Browns would have had last year if they signed Tyrod like I wanted them to.

Except, Tyrod never was able to be signed last year. :chuckle:

You'd think he would love those Dolphins QBs, because they made Landry one of the highest paid receivers in the game by feeding him the ball a frankly absurd number of times the last several years.
He may value winning....too bad he came here lol

Not even the best in the division

I’ve heard variations of “we have the best this group in the NFL” only to have half of those players off the team not even 2 years later to put any stock into this.

Josh Gordon is elite and has put up stretches of best WR in the league numbers.

Jarvis Landry is no slouch.

David Njoku showed as many receiving flashes as you could hope for from a rookie, 20 year old TE.

Duke Johnson is one of the best pass catching backs in the league.

Corey Coleman finally living up to his billing could conceivably put this group in the top tier of the NFL.

I gave you a THUMBS UP BRO because you are right, we don't have the best in our division. But easily #2.

But I just saw an article where they ranked every teams receiving corps going into 2018. We were 12th. Not too damn bad.

And they aren't factoring in RB's. In which we have Duke + Hyde.

We definitely have a talented receiving corps and you STILL could be right. 1/2 of these players may not be here in 2 years.

But as of now, we have talented people catching the ol' piggy.

So you take Gordon's comments and love his attitude and love it seems that he is primed for this season!

You are probably a guy who cuts the corn off the cob, aren't you?
