On ESPN and their attempts to cover the NBA

No.

You're a fucking asshole.

You have never been to Cleveland if you have? it's been pouting in the Hilton at Hopkins.

Every person I've met who's visited the 216/330? Has been nothing but sincere, kind and complimentary.

"Oh I loved the rock hall!"
"Oh man, Melts was great!"
"I tried that "Polish Boy" they had on "Man Vs. Food"
"Yeah dude the bar scene is unreal"
(me taking a cincinnati friend to "Ray's Place") "This is the best cheeseburger I've ever had in my life"
"Cedar Point man...awesome place"

It insults me because this actually goes against my very nature as a human being.

You know what I fucking did this week? I drove 4 hours to Dallas and 4 hours back. To go see an IndyCar race at a Track I had never been to and to "sight see" around the area. I didn't give a shit. I wanted to do something. Turns out? DFW is awesome and I want to go see it more.

Retire this shitty excuse. It's done. It's over. It's dead. You are a hack. You are the worst type of person. Afraid to explore and afraid to see new things.

This is the only reason I want LeBron to stay. I really don't even care if we go 0-82 (well... maybe)

but just to flip a middle finger at THESE type of people.

When I was about to leave my previous home (near Charleston, SC) and told them where I was moving, people were shocked that I'd go somewhere so "cold"
First few years I was here and I told people where I came from they were like, "why did you ever leave?"

I was there for 13 years. I hated the heat (see: user title). The Southern lifestyle as your everyday is very overrated, especially in hurricane territory (worse than snow IMO), and the traffic was awful. Here in Cleveland, at least the bullshit ends after about 6:30PM on the main arteries. You might be still sitting on I-26 if you're on the way home. Whenever I visit, I stay away from anything for a good four hours on either side of the day, which sucks.

Now granted, I had personal connections to this city and surrounding area going back to before I was born, but still. I came here, gambled, and think I went places I wouldn't have ever gone if I didn't come here.

The things that are REALLY wack about living here are NEVER discussed in the national media. But they're always mentioned in the Metro section, LOL.

Got here just in time for LeBron. (For the record, I was a Cavs fan well before that -- Terrell Brandon was my favorite player for the longest)

I think ESPN was cheerleading this because they wanted to not watch games in Ohio and this tweet is evident.

My shere hatred of this man is unmatched. He is to sports what mumblecore is to hip hop or "alternative metal" is to rock. An abomination and someone who should be hosting a podcast

go die in a fire.

Agreed completely. ESPN can eat a bowl of dicks.

I don't mean to pull the "BOOHOO OHIO AGAINST THE WORLD" sort of card here.

This isn't an "ohio" only problem. I've seen various sportswriters, journalists (and I use that term in the loosest sense possible. much like how someone describes Nickelback as "hard rock) just throw tantrums and pity parties whenever they're forced to cover a market they don't like.

Pay attention to how they act when they have to cover a Super Bowl that isn't in a.) Miami b.) New Orleans. You would think that they were covering an event from Siberian Gulag.

Which is sad because a lot of cities put a lot of effort into putting on a great show for these people and they then resort to acting like a child that is missing it's own security blanket.

A guy like Stephen A. Smith is a disgrace to sports media. Where as I see guys like the (sadly all deceased) Jim McKay, Keith Jackson, Dick Enberg who I am just..enamored with. Smith does the exact opposite and makes me hate the very concept of sports.

He acts like a lot of these bandwagoneers I've never been able to stand. It's kind of why I thought it was hilarious that the NFL stopped hosting the SuperBowl in the same ol' cities.

It blows my mind that guys like Stephen A. and Skip Bayless have jobs. They provide no meaningful commentary or insight or actual substance to a conversation centered around sports. Are people entertained by idiots screaming about nothing???

Cable news networks. That's essentially what these sports debate shows have become. It used to be kind of novel when I was in high school and would watch PTI everyday but now where every show is just a debate show where we already know the pre-established views of two loud mouths arguing.

-loss of NASCAR rights in 2000
-PTI in 2001
-gain of NBA rights in 2002

I realize the NASCAR one sounds...insane, but ESPN/ESPN2 actually relied on a lot of auto racing programming in the 80's and 90's. (in addition to "Worlds Strongest Man" and other events that are not within the big 4)

They pretty much gave up on that when they lost NASCAR and gained the NBA. They also discovered the use of the Fox News/MSNBC/CNN "debate" shows to fill up hours and hours of programming.

I think their lowest point was that they aired a "primetime" debate special about Tim Tebow going to the Jets in the middle of July. Like just air a rerun of some random past event at that point.
