He hasn't signed anywhere yet. I could see him just signing the qualifying offer because there aren't really any teams with a lot of cap space left.
Ok, lol, thats why i couldnt remember where he signed. Yeah, he will end up staying in Houston then. But basically they traded Ariza for Melo. Thats a bad, bad swap right there.

Gotta love the warm welcome from Toronto

At first i thought that was Kawhi walking there, then i zoomed in and realized the guy had a bald head. Lol

This will be the REAL test of whether Carmelo is a net-negative...

I don’t know... It’s HARD to hurt your team in crunch-time as badly as Ariza did this year...

Only thing Melo will help with is giving them another guy who can create his own shot. They lost two of their best defenders in Ariza and Mbah Moute and didn't replace them. I think people will be surprised how much better OKC will get with Roberson back and a better bench.

Agree, doesnt Ariza play much better defense though?
Ariza was essential to Houston's switching defense, which gave GS fits in the playoffs. Losing him (and Mba a Moute who was recovering from injury in the postseason but was a major piece in their regular season push) is absolutely going to hurt them.

After they lose Capela next year and CP3 turns 35 on a crippling contract, Houston's window will be all but closed (if it isn't already.)

I guess they will just have to OUTSCORE teams now.

I suppose that Melo can get minutes at the 2, when Small Game James needs a breather.

Barring a major GS injury, we all know anything these teams do is completely futile. You know its bad when teams like the Lakers are just forfeiting a year trying to make a run in two years when Lebron will then be 35. And if anyone was overdue for a major injury its one Mr. James. Im relieved GS is not our nightmare anymore. If we get good again in 5 years, all these guys will either be done, or about done.

I'm calling bullshit on this one.

It took a major HOUSTON injury for Golden State to even win that series. The Rockets had them beat before Paul went down.

I still think GS wins that series even if Paul plays. The Warriors sometimes drift through series then when its really time to win, they do. Plus, wasnt Iggy out for most of that series? Thats a pretty big missing piece against a good Houston team.

Houston losing a superstar clearly isn't as impactful as Golden state losing their fifth best player.

It's pretty evident that you either didn't watch the series or simply don't remember it. When it was time to in in game 5, Golden State simply got outplayed. They looked completely toast even to open game 6 before Paul's absence caught up with Houston.
