Your 2018 Cleveland Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Miller looked good apparently last night, I’d love to know what is velocity was.
Allen was scoreless.
Hand just got tagged. It happens. He’s been relatively solid.
If Miller and Allen put together a few good weeks, that would be HUGE.
Is Kluber hurt again? That’s the big issue from this game

How hopeful are you that, this time, Andrew Miller is Andrew Miller?

Antonetti: I would say this time is different. His mindset, his mentality is like, “This is the best I’ve felt in a long time, and not only am I healthy, but I feel I’m ready to go and pitch at the level that you’ve seen me pitch.” So, that’s exciting.

He likened all of that time down to a makeshift spring training. Did you view it similarly?

Antonetti: The most recent issue was shoulder related, whereas in the past, he was dealing with knee issues. Now, how much are they interrelated, something in your lower body affecting your upper body? It’s hard to distill out. But the encouraging thing is that Andrew is feeling like both the knee is a nonissue and now the shoulder and arm feel as good as they’ve felt in 18 months.

Fingers crossed

Hope Klubes is not hurt but I also don’t want to hear any shit about “arm slot” from a two time Cy Young award winner.

I am wondering if Hand and Gomes are sometimes on the same page. I’ve seen Gomes move a lot more when catching Hand or set up in a different position than where the ball ends up. Maybe I’m just looking too much at it.

When Donaldson is reliably starting, the Indians will be able to play a current or former all-star at every position.

C - Yan Gomes (1x All-Star, 2018)
1B - Yonder Alonso (1x All-Star, 2017)
2B - Jose Ramirez (2x All-Star, 2017-18)
SS - Francisco Lindor (3x All-Star, 2016-18)
3B - Josh Donaldson (3x All-Star, 2014-16; 1x MVP, 2015)
LF - Michael Brantley (3x All-Star, 2014, 2017-18)
CF - Jason Kipnis (2x All-Star, 2013, 2015)
RF - Melky Cabrera (1x All-Star, 2012)
DH - Edwin Encarnacion (3x All-Star, 2013-14, 2016)

SP - Corey Kluber (3x All-Star, 2016-18; 2x Cy Young, 2014, 2017)
SP - Trevor Bauer (1x All-Star, 2018)
RP - Andrew Miller (2x All-Star, 2016-17)

Apart from the obvious reasons why you'd want to season the Indians end the season strong, should the Indians make the World Series, having home field would be a nice advantage. And it very possible (having a better record than any NL team, that is) considering our remaining schedule features 13 of our remaining 18 games vs. the Tigers, White Sox, and Royals.

Hopefully JD is the spark. We're dragging, and understandably so, dog days and the division has been on lock for weeks.

Last 23 games (7 full series)

Record: 11-12
Runs Scored: 90 (3.9 /per)
Runs given Up: 98 (4.3 /per)
Differential: -8
3 or less runs scored: 10 games

Yuck :badair:

Glad they are getting this out of their system.

Well, we won 22 games in a row last year and got knocked out in the first round. Maybe sucking going into the playoffs is the answer?
