I know week 5 technically isn’t over; however, I can’t nelp myself when it comes to thinking about the upcoming game after a win like that and we are sitting at .500 at this point.

The talent has become obvious and this team is worth watching for that reason alone. We’ve led or have been tied going into the fourth quarter in all of our games. I’ve accepted that this is a competitive team.

San Diego has had some interesting affairs in 2018. Will post more shortly but just in case anyone else was interesting in discussing early in the week.

I've always liked Philip Rivers. Actually, he's a lot like Mayfield in that they both have a burning passion to win, and don't hesitate to show it to their opponent...

Holy shit for the first time in a long time a Browns game thread is made on a fucking Monday!!!! This is pandemonium!!!

I'm hyped

Chargers are a legitimate team under Anthony Lynn. He was the official Rooney Rule coach for years, but when he was finally hired he turned a ho-hum group into a physical team who doesn't make many mistakes. Not surprisingly, the former run game coordinator has maximized two backs beautifully: Melvin Gordon and passing back Austin Ekeler.

It also helps that the defense has added plenty of athletic, sure tacklers. Derwin James and Kyzir White have added a punch to the middle of the defense. Bosa and Ingram create pressure from the edge. The cornerbacks are solid and buy the front seven time to get to the quarterback.

Vegas has the Chargers as favorites by one point, but in front of the Dawg Pound I'd easily call this a pick 'em. Vegas doesn't trust the Browns anymore than the fan base.

Prediction: Browns win in overtime because of course this is going to overtime.

Well, the Chargers owner died (Spanos), hope they don't rally on Sunday.

I'll stick with my gut........

Refs will yet again, find a way to make us facepalm and cuss them out.

Again, idgaf, Baker has us humming this week. Figure we'll be up 7 with about 4 minutes to go. We end up driving down the field and on 1st and goal (from the 2), Haley will run in sequence: WR reverse (5 yard loss), TE reverse (11 yard loss), TE screen (3 yard loss).....joseph will attempt a fg.

On the try, he'll kick it so hard on the 38 yard attempt that it hits the top if the left post with so much force, it deflates and spirals directly down onto the bottom crossbar.........laying lifeless, half through-half out. After a 23 minute review and retarded explanation of the incompetence of the refs, they'll award us with 1.5 points, giving us a 8.5 point lead, which we hold onto as Peppers will pick off Rivers with about 1:69 left on the clock and no timeouts. fans will still bash the interception because he fair catches it. We just kneel it out to finish the game.

We begin a win streak with our 28.5 - 20 victory

The biggest thing is that the Chargers can be deadly with the screen. Eckler is fast as liquid shit and we cannot stop screens.

That being said, Rivers vs Mayfield should be excellent and the Chargers coming cross country for a 1 o'clock start time, anything can happen.

28-0 Browns

I feel like the Browns can beat anyone with Baker playing QB.

Subsequently, I think they can lose to anyone with Hue as the head coach.

Unique dynamic.
This is perfect.

Yeah and if we know this then I'll be damned if the Browns doesn't. We simply have to scale back on blitzing and when we do, basically have a spy on the RB. Our defense will be in for a tough one Sunday, but this offense is nothing different from Nawleans in week 2. We are tested.

According to ESPN, Rivers is the best QB in the NFL when pressured. If Williams doesnt cut down the blitzing this week, he'll never do it.

Baker was third by the way.

Also...Josh Allen sucks

Lots of red flags here, as you guys have pointed out above. Rivers is killing the blitz, their running backs do major damage catching passes out of the backfield, we get destroyed on every screen... Our offense is gonna need to bring it on Sunday, because I'm not sure our defense is gonna be able to keep them bottled up all game.

If the Browns run a similar defense to what they ran against Brees and Kamara, I think the defense will keep the score reasonable. It's going to be a dual!

I sure hope so. I'm looking for a much cleaner game from the offense. Please no more drive killing play calls like opening series with 2 inside runs or calling a reverse for Streater. And hopefully we help Bake out with a clean pocket and minimal drops.

I saw something about how Njoku usually gets an 11% target share with other QBs, but with Baker that jumps up to 19%. I'd really like to unlock him in the RZ, since he hasn't gotten a single target and we don't have a big WR aside from him and DeValve.

How much of that is an inability to stop screens, versus Williams deciding that is something that he will give to particular offenses? Raiders' game aside, it's difficult to argue with the overall results of our defense. Perhaps given the Chargers' style of play, Williams will give them different looks with fewer blitzes, LB's staying home more, etc..
