Calm down Francis. Once the game slows down for him he will still be fast. It’s early. Plus he was the 8th pick.
Yeah, it's a little early to cut bait on Sexton, but the red flags are enough to get Ferdinand's attention, to say the least. Not knowing how to play basketball is kind of a big deal. Everyone's an athlete in the NBA, you separate by knowing the game.

I will have more to say on Sexton, when he is put in the proper position to contribute.
I'm pretty sure JR has him getting donuts for the vets, so.... mission accomplished?

Saw the rumors on Terry Rozier being unhappy finding out the C's plan on giving all his minutes to Kyrie Irving just because Uncle Drew is like 100x better than he is (I know, WTF?). Speaking more to how worried I am about Sexton than high I am on Scary Terry, but I thought, "Sexton for Rozier? I might do that."

There was nothing to like about this kid other than his attitude and some raw athleticism. He didn’t do anything particularly well in college except score, and win, and watching the highlights, he scored and won in a manner that you could see didn’t translate to the NBA in the short term. So I’m not up or down on him. He was a gamble on athleticism and character and desire to get better. Everyone is athletic at this level, so we’ll simply have to see if he finds a way to figure it out. I’m pretty convinced he has the will to consistently improve. He’s starting really low though, so three years of improvement might land him somewhere where he’s simply adequate. You need one of those when did he get so good quantum leaps out of him in a year or two, because if that happens, he won’t be satisfied to have arrived. He’ll keep working. He’ll most likely fail. Most do. Either way, he’s where he was expected to be at this point. Not good at all.

He has been better than top 8 in terms of rookies. Shai has been decent but really you would have had to do a significant reach on Grayson Allen or something if you had wanted better at 8. Shai was the only guy that would have not been a reach. I guess Miles Bridges has looked pretty good the last couple of games. He was a real possibility. The idea that there were a bunch of allstars available at 8 just isn't the case.

Lebron royally fucked us by not winning those nets games and that is all there is to it. There were 7 really good players in this draft.

Collin can still come on, I am higher on him than you are. He has been put in a really bad position here. I am hoping Hill goes out sooner than later just because Collin needs to play with someone other than Clarkson to develop.

Well, put it this way: this team is at least worth watching when Sexton sees minutes. He's one of only maybe 2-3 guys that we should be building around moving forward. We can deal with all these Ls as long as we're seeing something new from Sexton each game and he's being given an opportunity to grow and get better.

Larry Drew on Sexton: Good test and felt like he passed the test against a good player. Sexton played with a level of vengeance. Needs to improve guarding quick guys because he takes his eyes off opponent looking for a screen then loses his man.

Asked about teammates body language being horrible when Sexton makes a mistake. Reporter added it doesn’t seem fair to a 19 year old. Drew agreed and said he told a few guys the same things in Orlando. He didn’t read the article but he clearly got the gist and told them they were 19 once.

I saw Drew's comments too. It was really nice that he actually sided with the kid instead of just letting the veterans bully him in the media.

I did see him get burnt a couple of times looking away from Shroeder. Glad the coach is encouraging him the right way.

Good game for him overall. Plenty of mistakes, but we actually saw some his natural feel for the game when he wasn't trying not to make mistakes. Got a little sped up a couple of times throughout the night.

When he uses his speed he is electric. Just needs to use his speed more often. Liked the finishes with with the left hand...this is a nice adjustment. Now he needs to incorporate floaters. It's not in his arsenal and he wasn't good at in College, but it's a must for him.

He should watch Schroeder both with the Hawks and now the Thunder. I think between Dennis and Tony Parker lies Sexton's top end potential. The most dangerous aspect of speed is the start/stop/start aspect. If Collin can harness that and have a reliable open jumper to pair with knowing when to pass it, he'll be OK.

Still, lot of ifs.

I was at the game last night and his teammates don’t seem to like him.

He did nothing to impress me and didn’t look overly talented in any one area.
