I watched the game last night on my TV and I don't like his teammates. Must be frustrating having arrogant "vets" who should't be in the league anymore publicly criticising you, freezing you out then preceding to put up trash games...

I was at game. Obvious the vets do not like him. Do not know why. Every report on the kid says he is a tenacious worker. Never have heard him say anything brash. The vets think more of themselves than what is real. They are older one trick ponies and need to be moved

Maybe cause he actually works which makes them feel bad about themselves and how they haven’t worked a day since they got payed and let lbj carry them for the last 4 seasons

Like Kyrie before him, he's surrounded with mostly underwhelming, ill-fitting talent. Clarkson in particular is reminding me of when Dion was here and plays even worse in some regards. (Relax, I like the OKC/Miami incarnation of Dion). This team is clearly built for the LeSystem and we are in transition.

Ironically, I like line ups where he, Hood, and Nance are all together. I can't remember if Zizic, Nance, and Sexton saw time together, but I know I would like that, too.

How does it show?

The vets don't hate Sexton, they hate that he was handed minutes without earning them. AND THEY SHOULD BE.

It's bad practice to not make young guys earn their minutes in some capacity. Be it benchmarks reached in practice, playing well in small sample sizes, being in the film room.. who knows, but something. The coach needs to provide a pathway for a rookie to earn his PT, and the rookie needs to prove he gets it, and does the right things. As you play smarter in limited role, your role will increase.

Pretty simple, keeps your vets happy, keeps your rookie focused, and gives your team best shots at winning.

Hill has started all season. Sexton came in as a reserve. I don’t understand the earn mins part. Are other teams having this issue with choices 1-7?
As for keeping vets happy. Really ? I am worried about keeping Jr and TT happy?

And how have JR TT and Hood earned minutes?

He comes off the bench.

You wanted him to not play at all?

TT and JR both suck. They have no right to criticize anyone.

And how have JR TT and Hood earned minutes?

Being in the NBA for 7 plus years each and all earned second and third contracts.

Yeah, you should because how you treat your vets is noticed around the league. The Cavs really needed another PG last night because Sexton was a disaster defensively. Right now, I think 16-19 mpg is about right until he shows he can make strides on that end. Of course, losing Hill (and then Cedi) didn't help.

The Cavs are carrying a reputation now of a place that doesn't treat their players, coaches, GM's right.. they have to change that. Handing young guys minutes without having a small amount of responsibility first placed in front of them exacerbates the situation, imo.

Hood is the worst of these. TT and JR have historically been decent players. Hood has literally had one good game in a Cavs uniform.

How we treat our vets? Overpay some of the shittiest players in the league? Have a coach for the last 3 years who demands zero work effort and will play you no matter how bad you’ve been?

Sounds pretty good to me, according to your logic vets should be lining up to join us this year...

Players care about $. I don’t see how Sexton is getting special treatment. He wasn’t starting
Osman and zizic certainly did not get special treatment last year

On offense. Very few passes to him. And when he goes to the bench see little interaction with vets. It’s just one game but that is what I saw
Tristan looks like the biggest culprit to me. Always has something to say after every mistake, obviously theres a place for advice but it looks more like blame.
