2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

So weird to have a GM being this honest with the press. I get he really didn't say much, but with all the talks of Berry, he actually addressed it.

At this point I am pretty sure I would traded a 1st round pick to get Dorsey, maybe 2. After 20 years of watching this organization, I finally know what a GM looks like,.

What would be a reasonable return for Duke and Ogbah?
If they are trading for picks, I'd want them to package our day 3 picks to try and get back into the top 100 picks or so in this or upcoming drafts. If they can fetch us depth at other positions (CB, s, lb) that also works.

So the real issue is both Hunt and Chubb are excellent receivers so what Duke brings is not needed. Hunt had 53 receptions his rookie year when he played a full year, and we all know arguably the Browns catch of the year was by Chubb. (I did say arguably). Duke is a great blocker for the QB and honestly I am not sure Hunt or Chubb are good blockers yet, I really don't know since Chubb didn't play allot of 3rd downs and I haven't study Hunt allot, but Duke can help at a position of need or get maybe what a 3rd/4th rounder? Rather have a decent established player to be honest, but we will see.

New Orleans just lost a RB, they could use him, I know they lost their power back, but might be a good fit.

Just throwing it out there--neither of our RB's is anywhere near the pass catcher Duke Johnson is.

As far as receiving ability out of the RB position, Duke's elite. David Johnson is the only player in the league I'm willing to put ahead of him.

I still want to try and get positive assets for Duke while we can before his large salaries start to kick in. I just don't want us to sell this man short. If he were on the Pats, he'd be a household name.

Kamara is better, Gurley is right there, and honestly, Hunt is also almost as good.

The issue is Hunt is way to good of a pass catcher to keep Duke. To me I wait for the suspension and see how long it is, but I would not keep Duke if its 6 games or less.

Edit: McCaffrey and Bell are better receivers than Duke also, especially Christian.
