Bone Tomahawk. Just started.

I'm fascinated by sadism and medieval torture and ended up on the one brutal torture scene in this movie through a reddit thread about the Spanish Donkey that led to discussion about splitting people in half.

Good so far. Disturbing.

Sort of a Western/Horror.
Lol you haven't seen anything yet.

It's fucking gruesome

I was really late to the party on The Jungle Book. I thought I was renting a movie for my kid, he freaked out because Sher Khan was genuinely scary and stopped watching. Wife and I were glued to it.

9/10 and I'm seeing the upcoming sequel in the theater 3D.

Really recommend Requiem for an American dream.

Chomsky is a stud.

13th had promise but decided to be more propaganda than statistic.

I watched this today as well. The visuals were really impressive, and it made me excited for the prospect of the "live action" Lion King they plan to do. As much as I thought the kid playing Mowgli did a good job, it was still a bit immersion breaking seeing something real against so much CG.

An all "animal" cast should make for a great experience.

Girlfriend dragged me to see La La Land.... honestly might be the best movie of 2016. Go see it.

Just finished it finally.

8.5/10

Really fun. Great cast.

Just a pretty classic western + The Hills Have Eyes. Would recommend.

Was hills have eyed actually that gruesome?

Not quite as gruesome.

I just meant it had the same cannibal, hill-people theme.

Why him.7/10. I HATE movies that are ronchy and vulgar just for laughs. This was that but actually funny. Pretty suprised how much I liked it.

Passengers. 8/10. I read what it was about. And thought I was gonna have to sleep on the poor date that I went with. Surprisingly, awesome! Great date movie too. Good love story, Jennifer Lawrence is hot as hell in it. Ending is pretty stupid but whatever, the beginning is super tense and very entertaining.

Edit-These are high grades for me. Recommend both.

Oliver stones untold history of the united states.

Biased but thorough.research while watching.

New Jack Reacher movie.

Pretty average for your standard action flick with just a few too many unbelievable moments for my taste.

I mean I'll buy into the super spy/karate expert stuff, but come on man, knocking someone out in one hit in the middle of a full airplane flight with no one noticing? I laughed out loud.

EDIT: Should also mention the para-military organization that somehow has access to every phone line, e-mail account, and basically any electronic device in the entire world. You know, totally ridiculous shit.

Dragged to see some kid movies....

Trolls made me want to gouge my eyes and ears out after about 15 minutes. I don't think I've ever used the word "treacly" in normal conversation before, but it's the best one word description of that movie. Like Care Bears on steroids -- and not in a good way. If you're 6 or under, I'd give it a 7/10. Subtract 1 for every year after that.

In contrast, The BFG was pretty damn good. Very funny while still being good for little kids. It went in kind of an odd direction for a kid's move in the second half that was a nice surprise. 9/10 for kids, a solid 7/10 for adults.

How was it compared with the first? I'm okay with popcorn flicks and found the first one entertaining.

I liked the first one far better. Although now I'm going to rewatch it to see if there were just as many highly unbelievable things that I chose to ignore.

Like, I go into these movies accepting a couple of things. One, the hero is going to be the greatest combat specialist in the history of the world. Two, the bad guys can't shoot. But if there has to be some connection to reality for these types of movies.

I mean literally in one scene he walks up to a guy on a commercial airplane, sits next to him in his seat, surrounded by people, and proceeds to knock him out in two punches AND NO ONE NOTICES. Quiet fucking airplane, people less than two feet away...nothing. Lots of silly shit like that.
