SHarlan 85: B+

Harlan has put together a pretty solid squad here, although his lack of two week one starting QBs and the overall question marks at the RB position are areas of concern. Watson will likely end up being the starter for the Texans, of course, but not necessarily in week one, and only being able to start one QB could cost him a couple of wins early in the season. I'm also not sold on his RB talent. I like Cook, but his poor combine showing is a definite concern. He's not nearly as athletic as we thought, and RB is the position where athleticism matters most. CJ Anderson should be solid, but beyond that he lacks any other starters at the position.

His receivers, though, are a thing of beauty. He's got some great value there, to be sure. Evans, Hopkins, and Robinson are all potential WR1s in fantasy football. Davis has the potential to be an elite producer as well. Cobb is a solid WR2/Flex guy, and Hill could definitely continue to produce like that as well. I'm also a big fan of Chris Godwin, and he's basically Evans' handcuff. I'm not a fan of Treadwell, though, and don't think he's ever going to produce on that Minnesota offense with Diggs and Thielen both looking like much better players.

Much like his RBs, he has a lot of question marks at TE. Bennett is good but old. Fiedorowicz was decent last year and has some good athletic measurables (notably his 75th percentile speed and agility), but he's also a big question mark right now. I would have liked to have seen Harlan grab a promising rookie at the position to give him some long-term potential there.

His defense is looking solid. Nothing special, but that's the case for most of the league. After the handful of top producers, the playing field levels out significantly.

All in all, I'm giving Harlan a B+. He's got question marks at several positions that otherwise would have led to a lower score, but he's also got the receiving assets to address them during the season or next summer. He's drafted well and put himself in a good position moving forward.

Favorite Pick(s): Allen Robinson (#37), Corey Davis (#69)
No idea how Robinson fell that far, and Davis could be a steal at the end of the sixth round.

Least Favorite Pick(s):
Dalvin Cook (#28), Laquon Treadwell (#232)
Just not a fan of either guy. Treadwell I can excuse due to his draft slot, as you're basically just throwing darts at that point, but Cook I think was drafted way too high and over a lot of guys with proven NFL production.

Nightmare: C-

This is a tough one. On the one hand, this is a pretty solid roster that should be competitive in year one. On the other, this roster has a very low long-term ceiling. The bulk of his skill position players are all in the back end of their careers, with only Kenny Britt, Fat Rob, and two of his TEs below the age of thirty. Further, all three of his RBs have guys breathing down their necks. I wouldn't be surprised if both Murray and Gore were replaced by Henry and Mack this year, and I don't think anyone will be surprised when the Washington RB carousel sends Fat Rob back to the bench for some random practice squad player who looks halfway decent one week.

But again, this roster almost certainly will be competitive this year, and so he gets points for that. He's got two very good starting WRs, and I think Britt is a sneaky good pick to be a WR2/Flex guy this year. I mean, this is the guy who just had a thousand yard, efficient season on that godawful Rams team with Jared Goff unable to hit the ocean from a boat. He'll get great QB play from Rodgers, although I think his inability to secure another top QB will cost him some games. Drafting Rodgers in superflex is a great move, of course, but if you fail to pair him with another 20ppg QB, you've effectively thrown the advantage of owning Rodgers out the window. Starting Flacco or Hoyer will likely give back the four to six points a game that Rodgers will get you over your average opponent's QB1.
I also think he invested a bit too heavily in defense early on at the cost of his skill players. This is not a deep roster. A couple of injuries could really tank his season. I also think that, on average, defensive players are just more replaceable than offensive ones. He kept drafting redundant linebackers when he should have been investing in flex-worthy RBs and WRs. Further, this is a roster that is very low on long-term guys. There's just not enough promising youth to go around here (not a single rookie on the roster as of this point), and promising youth is the fuel for dynasty football leagues.

Finally, I think that using a first round pick on Jordy Nelson in dynasty is just a very bad pick. Nelson, of course, is an amazing player, and there's a great chance he'll be a WR1 again this year. However, he's also 33, and that's the age when elite WRs tend to experience a sharp decline. Maybe Nelson avoids that this year, and he probably will, but drafting a player with an incredibly short shelf-life in the first round of a dynasty league is just a bad decision, especially with guys like Amari Cooper and Michael Thomas still on the board.

All in all, I gave Nightmare's team a C-. It's certainly a competitive team in the short term, but you need to be thinking about the future as well in dynasty.

Favorite Pick(s): Aaron Rodgers (#17), Kenny Britt (#135)
Rodgers should have been a first round pick in superflex and Britt is a steal that late. He's likely to be the Browns' number one WR this year.

Least Favorite Pick(s):
Jordy Nelson (#8), Greg Olsen (#41)
Don't hate either guy as a player, but both were drafted way too high given their ages in a dynasty format.

UnderConstruction: B+

Cavsfan1985 has put together a pretty nice roster here. He's taken advantage of having back to back picks every other round to add some serious talent to his team. He also lucked into the number one pick in the draft, awarding him with Odell Beckham, arguably the most valuable asset in dynasty football right now.

If I have any complaints, it's probably with the depth at his WR position. Moncrief is a touchdown machine (albeit a very inefficient one) when Luck and he are both healthy, but that hasn't happened much yet. Perriman seems to be made of glass (which sucks, as I own him in my other league!) and is constantly on the sidelines with one injury or another. Ginn is old, although he should produce at least this year in that Saints offense. Edelman is old and constantly taking huge hits, which may shorten his shelf life.

I really like this team's RBs, though. While there's not a lot of depth there, he's got three guys who are young and have a ton of potential in Mixon, Fournette, and Montgomery. Montgomery should be in line for a lot of touches this year after switching to RB last season, while Fournette and Mixon are two of the three best prospects from this year's talented RB class (with McCaffrey being the other). Woodhead probably won't be around much longer, but in the short term he's got the green light for a ton of targets in Baltimore with Dixon out for the year. Barring injury, he'll almost certainly be a valuable flex play all year. Unfortunately, I think Charles is done and may end up being a wasted pick.

And while UnderConstruction lacks depth at the TE position, I love Austin Hooper, and he seems to be in line for an increased target share this season. I'm less sold on Fleener, but the Saints didn't sign him to a five year deal for nothing, so perhaps he proves me wrong and has a great year. He's at least in a dynamic, high-scoring offense, which gives him potential.

Perhaps the greatest strength of this team, though, is at the quarterback position. Luck and Brees are two of fantasy's best QBs. The down side, of course, is that these are his only two QBs, and with Luck almost certainly missing week one and possibly several games, cavsfan1985 could be finding himself in the unenviable position of an early 0-2 or 0-3 start to the fantasy season. Further, there really aren't any remaining promising QBs in the draft, which means that this issue is unlikely to be addressed before the season starts.

All in all, though, this is a good team from top to bottom. If Luck can stay healthy and get on the field early in the season and at least one of his rookie backs pans out, I fully expect this to be a playoff team.

Favorite Pick(s): Ty Montgomery (#73) & Austin Hooper (#169)
Both great values for guys who should see increased opportunity this year.

Least Favorite Pick(s): Julian Edelman (#97)
Don't hate Edelman, but there were better and/or younger WRs still on the board at this spot like Eric Decker and Jamison Crowder, along with high-potential guys like DeVante Parker.
