Columbus Blue Jackets thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The way the NHL structures their postseason is perhaps the dumbest thing in professional sports.

Couldn't agree more. I don't understand how the 2nd and 3rd best teams in the conference square off in round 1. NHL playoffs are fun to watch, but just a hard sport to take seriously with their weird ass playoff system.

The Metro division is just stupid good this year. No one expected it to yield the three best teams in hockey. If the Jackets sustain this type of success over the next few years, i could see a shakeup occurring. We are a young team that has tons of potential but if we are continually matched up with the Caps or the Pens the first round, we're fucked.

When it is in your team's best interest to drop games to secure a wild card spot vs. win as many games as possible, the system is flawed.

I know next to nothing about hockey. Is this a good or bad deal for the Blue Jackets? Also, didn't they just acquire Saad *from* the Blackhawks in the last year or two and then give him a big extension?

It's a great deal. Panarin is a pure scorer, which we need. He's young and has star potential. Torts had called out Saad publicly a few times about his effort level in games so I figure that played a part in the deal as well.

Off to a good start this year.

Officially off to their 2nd best start in CBJ history. Panarin has certainly looked the part and he seems to have already established pretty good chemistry with the top line guys, especially Atkinson. His stick skills are ELITE and were needed last season. Dude's just a lot of fun to watch.

Playoff race coming down to the wire...last night was not good.

Thanks for digging this up, wanted to see if there was any other slappy biscuit fans in these here parts.

Not a BJs fan (GO CANES!!!)

Seeing the Canes clinch in person last night for the first time in 10 years is a top 5 sports experience for me. I know Cleveland waiting 52 years for a Championship, but I waited about 20. The only pro sports team in the Capital city of Raleigh has waiting 10 years just to BE IN THE PLAYOFF convo. The atmosphere was special.

Jackets doin em raw !!

Sunday is gonna be nuts
