That dude just said Derek Fisher locks up on defense.

Is anyone else worried that the Thunder won't show up for the finals and play to their potential? It seems like teams that are making their first finals appearance, and that are this young, seem to have a low success rate. It would be unprecedented for them to win it all, right?

At least that's what keeps playing through in my head.

Someone/everyone tell me I'm wrong.

this ( i apoligize for the long post but imma tell u why this goes no more than 6)

matchups
1.)the line up the heat play most. (mario, david stern, battier, 6, bosh) vs (russ.harden.thabo.kd.ibaka) again who guards harden cause wad is on westbrook who will eat him alive the dude made kobe look like shit. lebron has to guard kd or kd abuses battier. either way battir gets abused by harden or westbrook. with that lineup how do they stop westbrook and harden from finishing at the rim including the fact that ibaka can stretch the floor

chalmers vs westbrook
2.)chalmers played good all seris with critical points (rondo has overrated defense) westbrook locks up on defense so does dfish this wont happen

shooting guard
3.)wade abused fools like pieturs who cant move brings nothing postive but looking ugly as hell and ray allen who is hurt in the ankels u need those for defense. thunder have thabo who plays great defense and harden also underrated him wade comming in tardy to games missing the 1st half will lead to a sweep. they held kobe to 42% shooting. thabo also controlled a fast t.parker. wade didnt work that hard on defense just sagging off on rondo, im sorry harden and thabo are shooting 45% and 37% from 3 you have to respect them

lebron
4.) lbj vs kd. kd isnt pierce enough said. and they wont be calling foul on this guy like they did PP trus.

rebounding/turnovers/
5.) bass cant rebound for shit thunder have perk and ibaka 2nd chance points will be rare. thunder will out rebound them every game. okc has trimmed down there turnover in the playoffs. who is the 2nd most dangerous team in fastbreak behind the heat, answer okc. with the heat complaining after every call okc is gonna get even more, imean the freckin celtics were running on them the CELTICS

fouls
6.) we know bosh, lebron and wade will get theres but harden, kd, and westbrook also get calls and know how to seek contact

roadtrips
7.)heat played ny(dont make melaugh) pacers(nba version of aau team) celtics(old and injured)
thunder played mavs, heat, spurs (won 20 straight where playing great ball and then lost 4 straight)
thunder have lost 3 games to great teams

scoring
8.) how are the heat gonna score with okc. the have mario.wade.lebron.bosh.battier who score constiantly
thunder have russ,harden,thabo,kd.ibaka,fish
kd and durant score the sam, westbrook and wade same, harden will score as bosh scores

bosh effect
9.) when he played he was hitting 3s and grabbing alot of rebounds.
he wont be hitting those all finals and ibaka and perkins are great rebounders. duncan was having a resergence 1st 2 round the thunder did a great job on him

celtics
10.)the celtics were taken to game 7 by the 7ers yeas the 8 seed. got challenged by atl and trotted out 3 players over 34 and not athletic.
they lost gas at the end

I stopped at the part where Rondo's defense is overrated but Dfish is going to lock Chalmers down. Because A. Rondo guarded Wade most of the time and B. Dfish couldn't lock me up.

EDIT: And Rondo's defense this series is exactly why he should be considered a top 3 PG in the league. He was guarding out of position a great portion of this series and did more than a passable job of it. He played very effective defense against Wade and did a half-way decent job against James too.

Once David Sterns boner wears off and he realizes that he is going to have some huge ratings on the game, he is then going to realize that 49 states in the U.S. along with other countries are going to want the Thunder to win and Stern is going to want teams to build their teams instead of buy their teams. In short, Thunder in 6 and the refs will not be biased

ESPN is such a fucking joke filled with slobbering sycophants. Linda Cohn just said on SportsCenter that "you have to love LeBron James. You really do." No, Linda, I don't have to love him. I choose not to love narcissistic traitors who refuse to visit children's hospitals. And then there's JA Adande scolding people on Twitter for rooting for a team that is owned by Clay Bennett. Mind you, this is the same stooge who wrote a column a couple years ago urging LeBron to play for a team owned by slumlord Donald Sterling. Who do these people think they are telling sports fans who to root for? Get the fuck out of here...

Someone/everyone tell me I'm wrong.

I'm not really worried about this at all. Last year was their "learning experience" season, losing to the Mavericks in the WCF. This year they've defeated the Mavericks, Lakers, and Spurs. The Spurs series was especially telling - down 2, most (myself included) were talking about a Spurs sweep. I mean, this was the best regular season team in the NBA, the hottest team in the NBA (had won 20 straight), and one of the most playoff-tested teams in the NBA.

The Thunder responded by beating the Spurs, who hadn't lost a game in over a month, in four straight games.

OKC also has home court advantage, which is big considering they are undefeated in the playoffs at home (8-0) and play in front of a truly great crowd.

Thunder in six.

Agree with this.

I'd also add this: Miami's biggest advantage over everyone is no longer an advantage. I mean, we honestly don't know, but Durant might be the better player right now. And if that's the case, the Heat have no shot.

I feel like Durant v 6 is probably a draw, but you have to like the rest of the matchups. Especially OKC's bench v Miami's. James Harden will be a huge factor.

PS... fuck Chris Bosh. Congratulations on the best game of your soft ass career.

I think this is the year LeBron gets his ring boys :(

From NewsOK.com:

The Thunder split the series 1-1, with both teams winning on their home courts.

• GAME 1 SUNDAY, MARCH 25: The Thunder thoroughly outplayed the Heat before notching a 103-87 win inside Chesapeake Energy Arena. Kevin Durant outclassed James and tilted the MVP race to his favor by scoring a game-high 28 points with eight rebounds and eight assists. Durant’s defense was every bit as dominant as his all-around game, as he helped to hold James to 17 points on 8-for-18 shooting. While Durant garnered the headlines, the more significant story of the game was how the Thunder murdered Miami’s defense with unselfish ball movement that allowed even its defensive-minded big men to be huge offensive threats. Serge Ibaka scored 19 points with 10 rebounds, and Kendrick Perkins added 16 points and six rebounds. The two interior anchors combined for 16-for-21 shooting and left Miami utterly mystified on how to defend the high-powered Thunder.

• GAME 2 WEDNESDAY, APRIL 4: The Heat got even with a 98-93 win inside American Airlines Arena. James solidified his himself as the MVP with a dominant 34-point, seven-rebound, 10-assists, four-steal performance. Durant scored 30 points with four rebounds and three assists, but James’ defense hounded him into a career-high nine turnovers. Still, the Thunder’s defense held up against the Heat in their building. OKC limited Miami to 37 percent shooting and held Wade and Chris Bosh to a combined 25 points on 11-for-32 shooting.
THUNDER-HEAT MATCHUPS

This potential series would showcase the most intriguing Finals matchup in recent memory in Durant versus James. They’re two of the best players in the league and just so happened to play the same position, which means they would match up throughout the game. It would make for riveting theater. James’ teams have gotten the best of Durant’s in the head-to-head meetings since 2007, with James owning a 7-2 record against Durant. In those nine games, Durant has averaged 27.3 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.9 assists. James has averaged 26.8 points, 5.9 rebounds and 7.1 assists.

Other intriguing matchups include Wade against Thabo Sefolosha, Russell Westbrook against Mario Chalmers and Ibaka against Bosh. The X-factor matchup very well could be James Harden versus Shane Battier in an offense-defense chess match that could determine how effective the Thunder is offensively. In Scott Brooks and Erik Spolestra, the coaches pacing the sidelines, we would see two of the best up-and-coming coaches in the league. Spolestra got his team to the Finals last year. Brooks has been there as a player but is a first-timer as a coach.

48 states... Florida and Washington will want the Heat.

Battle of the screwed over NBA cities....

In this corner, rooting for the Oklahoma City Thunder is CLEVELAND! Two years removed from the best player in franchise history announcing on national TV that he would raise his middle finger to his home state, Ohioans hope to enjoy a Heat shortcoming to enter their second straight summer!

And in this corner, rooting for the Miami Heat is SEATTLE! Five years removed from losing their franchise, whom is now dynasty-caliber. Kevin Durant looks to put a dagger in the heart of the fans whom once cheered him on.

BEGIN!

Thunder in 5.
