For Boston to do what they did was amazing. No Bradley, no Green, Holllins even playing minutes etc. They took the Heat 7 games and Lebron played major minutes, they did everything neccessary to make the Heats gas tank run on empty for the finals. It is funny how much my respect switched to a team that i use to despise. I will tell you Rondo has become one of my favorite players in the NBA. Garnett, Pierce, Allen, and Rondo earned my respect. Not too mention Bass. Boston made a great last run. My girlfriend is from New England and her family are big Boston fans. She is from CT but her dad use to be a professor at Harvard where she lived for a long time. I cannot stand Red Sox fans, going to Fenway is almost unbearable (have had some real,y bad experiences there with her family from out of control red sox fans when the tribe has played there) but I think after Lebron made the change to Miami, Boston fans became more tolerable. Even some of the biggest die hard Knicks fans I know were going all out rooting for the the original big 3's last stand.

I will never forget seeing Garnett at Supreme skateboard shop signing all the autographs.
Allen is a class act and you have to respect KG, Pierce and even Rondo, they seem to shy away from the limelight. Sucks that Rondo is going to have to go through a rebuild. Totally a different maturity level from their stars, they are old school compared to the way D Whistle, Lebron, Amare, Melo etc compose themselves.

OKC winning the nba title this year will do wonders for the nba. If OKC can win it all, it really will change the landscape of the nba. I think younger players in the nba and this upcoming draft class gets it. If a small market team like OKC can win it all, it might have a big impact of free agents players preferences. I love how Cleveland is now a preferred team to go too for the upcoming draft class...

I think us Cavs fans can find some hope from the Thunder. It took them 4 years to get to the finals. 2012 - 13 will be only year two and we've already found our leader.

Man totally forgot about no Jeff Green. Talk about something they desperately needed. A back-up SF that could actually guard LeBron and would have been sweet relief for Paul Pierce's corpse.

I'm not a gambler...can you/anyone make sense of these numbers for me? I see:

Miami Heat - 2,470
OKC - 1,613

?

I'm not use to seeing odds listed like that, but I'm pretty confident it means a $1 bet for OKC will win you $1.61 when they win. The other bet being close to a dollar more means the bookie and bets are favoring the Thunder to win it.

Make Sense?

Just curious what the odds are for the zebras to win it for the Heatles.

Once David Sterns boner wears off and he realizes that he is going to have some huge ratings on the game, he is then going to realize that 49 states in the U.S. along with other countries are going to want the Thunder to win and Stern is going to want teams to build their teams instead of buy their teams. In short, Thunder in 6 and the refs will not be biased
I am sure ESPN feels the same way:rolleyes:

These are decimal odds more common on European betting sites. $100 on the Heat would pay $247, so you would make $147 on a winning bet.

$100 on OKC would pay $161.30. You would only make $61.30 on a winning bet.

So OKC is a pretty heavy favorite.

If Heat win the finals you are going to see some casual fans pack up their bags and decide to not watch the NBA or support the league and money will be lost

I'm an obsessed fan -- watching every Cavs game, and most of the big matchups all year long. And even I have considered boycotting the game if the Heat win.

Thankfully young teams like OKC, and our own Cavs have redeemed the sport in some ways -- not to mention teams like the Nets and Knicks struggling to cheat their way into a contender. Hopefully the cHeat experiment will be proven failed in the long run.

I think Lebron has more pressure to win this time then last year because if the heat dont win, lebron will be criticized like never before. I can only imagine what skip would say if they lose. So if lebron still wants to be called "The king" or "the chosen one", he has to win this year. Period.

depends on how they go out. If the heat loses despite lebron playing out of his mind that will definitely soften the blow.

48 states... Florida and Washington will want the Heat.

Battle of the screwed over NBA cities....

In this corner, rooting for the Oklahoma City Thunder is CLEVELAND! Two years removed from the best player in franchise history announcing on national TV that he would raise his middle finger to his home state, Ohioans hope to enjoy a Heat shortcoming to enter their second straight summer!

And in this corner, rooting for the Miami Heat is SEATTLE! Five years removed from losing their franchise, whom is now dynasty-caliber. Kevin Durant looks to put a dagger in the heart of the fans whom once cheered him on.

BEGIN!

Thunder in 5.

Make that 49 likely--Florida does have 2 teams (last year, polls put Heat support there at exactly 50-50.)

meh, only 60%.

against boston tho, they would've been a heavy favorite.
