A 40 year old Kobe can stay more healthy than Wade. That is why I drafted Bosh instead, because I think he will have the bigger year in LeBron's absence.

I totally disagree. Kobe barely played at all last season, and has looked like a shell of his former self thus far. I personally think he might be done. Wade, on the other hand, is basically a lock to play at least 50 games of quality basketball, and he won't be on quite the same maintenance program he was last year after a summer of healing up. Barring a major injury, I fully expect him to play 60+.

People overlook it because he was a no-show in the Finals, but Wade was really good last year in the games he played in. He averaged 19-4.5-4.7 with 1.5 steals, and those numbers should be inflated a bit this year without LeBron handling the ball constantly in Spoelstra's unimaginative offense.

If you get 60+ games like that from a guy you picked in the fifth round, you're doing pretty well.

Kobe and Wade going that late are probably a good pick either way. Especially if I can put Kobe at the utility position, that is a good gamble to see if he can have some big games.

Either way, I'm actually not cheering for Kobe to do well, regardless of fantasy or not, because I don't like Kobe. :chuckle:

I actually do like Kobe. At least, I like Old Man Kobe who always has great quotes for reporters. He's been a quote gold mine the past three or four years.

Young Kobe was an asshole, though.

And I would have considered Kobe with my pick had he not gone one spot ahead of where I picked, but I would have picked Wade over him regardless. I was just hoping you didn't pick Wade since someone had already snagged Thompson a few picks earlier and I didn't want to gamble on Kobe as my starting two guard.

Serge is on the trading block. Looking for a good PG in return with good steals and assist numbers.

I need a SF. Someone hook me up. Also, if anyone wants Marc Gasol, please take him off my hands. I'm not interested in the lesser of 2 brothers.

I would trade you Pau Gasol for Marc Gasol if you felt that way. But I'm nice and won't do that to you.

Just noticed the scoring in this league is kinda fucked up...

Stats
Points (PTS) 1 Blocks (BLK) 1
Steals (STL) 1 Assists (AST) 1
Rebounds (REB) 1 Turnovers (TO) -1

No points awarded for 3PM, FG%, FT%. I'm not sure if you did this on purpose or not but this isn't how most leagues run. Actually never heard of a league scoring in this way.

For the record, I saw how the scoring system was set up and took that into heavy consideration on how I drafted, basically what I based all my picks on. So it wouldn't be too fair to change it now. The time for that to be changed or discussed is before the draft.

I've literally never been a part of a league where the scoring wasn't the way I referenced above. I just assumed that was how this league was being scored because that's how 99% of fantasy leagues do it.

I don't really care either way. It's not like we have any money on this league or anything so it's not that serious...just didn't know if the scoring was done intentionally or not. Had I known beforehand I would've drafted my team way differently.

The scoring could not be dumber. Hate to be an ass about it but it's true. FG%, FT%, and 3ptm are a HUGE portion of fantasy and that's just thrown all out.

Zero chance I would have taken Lillard or Gasol so early if I had known the scoring was like this before the 10th round of the draft. Now my run of winning 10 straight fantasy basketball leagues is in jeopardy.

It was made to clear weeks ago to check the league settings. I said I just made up a very basic set of scoring rules. To bitch about it a week after the draft is stupid considering the amount of time everyone had to review and put in their 2 cents.

With that said, I'm open to whatever. We can even have a new league with a new draft, I dont really care honestly. I'm in two other leagues as well so...whatever the majority wants.

So my paid league is drafting this weekend. We do an auction draft with three keepers.

Here are my keeper options:
Steph Curry - 10
Blake Griffin - 17
Kyrie Irving - 46
James Harden - 35
Dwight Howard - 49
Rajon Rondo - 10
Bradley Beal - 19
Eric Gordon - 8
Jonas Valanciunas - 1
Victor Oladipo - 2
Luol Deng - 7
Tristan Thompson - 1
Anderson Varejao - 3
Kyle Korver - 1
Robin Lopez - 1

Curry, Irving, and Harden were my three keepers from last year.

The scoring is pretty standard fantasy. FG%, FT%, 3PM, PTS, REB, AST, STL, BLK, and TO.

Who should I choose as my keepers?

I'm assuming the number is the amount you bid for that player.

Easy Choices.

1. Curry for 10 is absurd. He's a top 5 pick
2. Harden for me. I will consider taking him #1.
3. Blake Griffin. Again a top 10 pick. Going to be even better this year.
4. Still amazed that you got Curry for 10.
5. Don't even think about Irving.
6. Nice extreme overpay on Dwight.

If you don't want to tie up all that money, I'd keep Oladipo for 2 over Harden. Definitely keep Blake and Curry.

Well, keep in mind I got Curry two years ago after he was coming off that injury that cost him most of the season. He only played 26 games that year and everyone was wary of his ankle issues. He immediately blew up that year and became a top ten pick. I'm not sure what our keeper rules are going to be this year, though, as our league admin has been a little lazy about getting everything set up. If it's last year's cost plus one like it was last year, Curry will be 11.

But you pretty much mirrored my thoughts on who to keep. Curry was obviously a no brainer, and Blake/Harden are just great values considering what they will likely go for in an auction this year.
