2014-2015 NFL Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Butler's timing was about as amazing as Kearse's catch. Laid a nice hit while catching the fucking ball...wow.

He should thank Pete Carroll.

Best running QB in the League and maybe the best rb (who is known for getting extra yards) and you call for a pass from the 1 yard line?

Cmon Son

So my condo is next to a bar on Capitol Hill in Seattle. For whatever reason my cable is about five seconds behind the bar's. Every time the Seahawks scored or had a big play I could hear the cheers before the play happens on the tv. When that awful play happened I heard nothing but shrieking and a collective "NOOOOO!!!"

It is really disappointing. Last year was so fun with the pandemonium downtown, fireworks from the Space Needle and the parade. It was special and I hope Cleveland sees one this summer.

Seriously though that 4th quarter by Brady was what makes legends. Down 10 vs the best defense and dude slices and dices like it's nothing. But when whoever that Seahawks WR made that crazy catch I was thinking here we go again not the david tyree catch again. What was lost in that game is Brady went full legend there too leading a drive to take the lead before Elie and the Tyree catch cost him that SB. This could have been #5 for him and if Gronk doesn't get hurt he would be 6-6 in SB

I really didn't want to have to start hating the Patriots again, but after that BULLSHIT?!!!!!

Ugh. Now idiots are going to go on about how he's better than Montana, etc. Bullshit. Montana went 4-0 in an era where you could actually defend WRs without worrying about getting a flag and no QB protection rules. The rich get richer. Finally closing the lid on an all-shit NFL season.

Don't worry, you can't talk about the Patriots without talking about Spygate and Deflategate. Public opinion is that they cheat. Anyways, I am glad they won. I don't particularity care for Seattle or Richard Sherman. I feel like he would have been insufferable.

Go Browns.

Classic Pete Carroll though...not the first time he tried to get cute at the end of a championship game.

Bullshit? Did you not see the catch the seahawks made a few seconds earlier? They were lucky to even be in the position to win at that time.

Pete runs Lynch and scores we'd be treated to round two of this......

Damn you Carroll, damn you

I want to say it was DPI so bad but it just wasn't. Impeccable timing.

im still amazed by that play calling it so bad just as bad pop having duncan on the bench in game 6 of the finals lol. Wilson shoudve not rushed that pass imo, if the woudve run the ball they woudve score easily but o well whats done is done. The patriots should thank pete carrol for his amazing play calling

I am a huge Joe Montana fan.. I love Notre Dame, so I will always be bias with him.

But it's literally impossible, to not consider Brady as the greatest ever. Look, you can argue any way you'd like. Montana played in an era where there was no free agency. He played with one of, if not the greatest receiver ever. He won 2 with him, two without. And people talk about Brady playing with Belichick, and how great of a coach Belichick is.

Do people really have a short memory, and not truly understand how great Bill Walsh was? He invented the west coast offense. The dude is a legend.

The guy re-invented how the game is played today.

Brady basically won with all kinds of different teams, different receivers. The dude is an all-time great, whether hate him or not.

Bullshit? Did you not see the catch the seahawks made a few seconds earlier? They were lucky to even be in the position to win at that time.

And not to mention, they were LUCKY to be there at all, period. Do people not forget the horrible onside kick recovery, where the guy blew his assignment?

He doesn't blow his assignment, they're not even playing in this game.

No ONE in the NFC conference that won, then loss, should complain. Talk about a trickle down effect.

Cowboys benefited from a horrible PI that wasn't called. Green Bay probably benefited from the Dez non-catch, from a horrible rule, that should be changed, and should have been a catch. (I still think GB would have won, but still, they benefited from that).

Then Seattle, of course, shouldn't even be in this game, if some third string tight end doesn't take it upon himself to try to catch an onside kick.

So everyone in the NFC that won, had the benefit of some luck/bad calls go their way, etc, to be where they were. No one should shed any tears for them.

Oh yeah, let's not forget Carolina, that had a shitty record, but still made the playoffs because they were in a horrible division.

No one in the NFC that won should complain, since they had somethings go their way to get to where they were.

Yikes.

Pete Carroll making the worst decision in sports history does not make Tom Brady the undisputed GOAT.

Tom Brady getting carried by a top 10 NFL defense of all-time during the dynasty years and game managing a Super Bowl with 145 yards does not make him the GOAT.

Furthermore, the 2000-2015 Patriots have a giant cloud hanging over their accomplishments.

Where did I say undisputed? I said you'd have to be crazy, to not consider him in that category. I personally don't care, it's subjective. It's impossible to make a definitive statement.

Do you REALIZE, in Montana's first Super Bowl, he only threw 157 yards? So you're saying, basically he can't be considered a goat now too? Because hey, those numbers look pretty game-manager like to me.

And let's be real, Joe Montana has NEVER played a defense this good in the super bowl.

The teams he beat in the Bengals (twice), Dolphins, and Broncos, his teams were clearly superior. Sorry, Dan Marino's Dolphins were carried by Dan Marino's arm. John Elway played on some pretty subpar teams, they were not that good.

And what exactly does that mean. Do you seriously not get it? That most teams DO benefit from luck? Do you not realize the Seahawks were lucky to be there?

Okay, let's say the Patriots were lucky to win, and granted, I thought it was a horrible call. How do not over look an even WORSE decision, by a third string tight end to not block like he supposed to, and muffs a clean ball that costs his team the game?

Game over, Seattle loses! That simple.

And let's keep this is in more perspective, Tom Brady was accounted for every point himself. This was the same defense, that crushed Peyton Manning last year.

No QB in the history of the SB, has ever came back down two scores to win the game. Yeah, let's pretend he had no impact on the game whatsoever.

Seriously, who really gives a shit? It's not like the Browns got beat.

Why isn't Darrell Bevell getting more hate? Unless Carroll told him to run the ball (seeing as Carroll has a defensive background and never been an offensive playcaller), I put that call on Bevel moreso than Carroll.

My bad, I read your statement wrong. Misunderstanding.

I don't give a shit either, I just find it funny how people are always reaching to call someone new the greatest of all time.
