Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bad...bad news.

Think we are seeing the beginning of the end for Thad. 2 Freshman transfer out, losing out on big Ohio recruits...not looking too hot right now.

Was thinking the same. The program seems like it's going in the wrong direction.

Wonder if we could somehow get Gregg Marshall. That would be amazing.

If there's ever an opening at OSU, the first call I make it to Brad Stevens and offer to make him the highest paid coach in college basketball.

If he says no, I turn my attention to Marshall and Sean Miller.

IMO, they missed out on their biggest chance at a huge get last year...could have had Shaka Smart.

I can't see any possible way Stevens leaves the NBA. He's done too well there and the Celtics have a war chest of assets they are bound to capitalize on soon. Really, they are the Cavs' biggest threats in the future of the East barring superstar movement.

If they can't get a big ticket free agent, Stevens could jump if the right opportunity arose.

Roy Williams leaving UNC is a more realistic landing spot I think.

Ya never know.

I think Thad needs to bring in some fresh faces in as assistants. Boals and Dickerson aren't getting the job done in terms of recruiting or player development. The strength and conditioning has been pretty weak for the last few years as well. Thad can turn it around, but he needs to put his loyalties aside for the betterment of the program.

Pretty sure they just hired a new S&C coach for the basketball team this year...on top of him hiring Paulus and letting him run the offense.

Just sometimes things go stale, even for the best of coaches. Also think his health isn't letting him recruit like he once did. OSU has the money, has the facilities, and has been exposed a lot to this current generation of recruits...can't keep missing out on big Ohio guys and big national guys like they have the least few years.

To my knowledge, Dave Richardson has been the S&C coach for the men's team since 2005, unless he just left in the last few weeks.

You're absolutely right about Thad's health, though. It's become clear that it's a big hindrance for him at this point. Sad, considering he's not even 50, but he could retire tomorrow and go down and perhaps the most successful coach in program history.

I think people don't give him enough credit either for recruiting good citizens his whole career. Noopy Crater is really the only guy with any sort of publicized personal issues who has passed through since Thad started 12 years ago.

Hmmm...could have sworn I read somewhere they hired a new guy...guess I was wrong.

And yeah, not even 50, but guy has been on the grind of a college basketball coach and recruiter for 25 years...has to take an incredible toll on not only you, but your family as well.

Wow...could they be leaving because Thad is going to step away...doesn't make sense, both of these guys had big roles as Freshman and it would only get bigger next year...

Maybe, but with Markell Johnson possibly in the fold and reclassified and Micah Potter seemingly underrated after blowing up this year at Montverde, it could be crowded.
