2016-2017 Around The NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like the news of trading for Ibaka really fired up the Raptors to lose handily to the Bulls.

Ibaka does not move the needle for a Tor Cle matchup and long as we have Bron and Kyrie... Toronto simply cannot guard either of them and have nobody to put on either of them.

It only moves the needle for bstthe for 2nd place supremacy Bos/Wash/Tor

I actually think Love out hurts us most against Washington. Not enough to make it a legit series but still. Luckily, he'll be back!

It is like you said Ibaka plays like a 30 year old and he will help but he will not make a difference when it matters. They made that move out of desperation and it shows. They gave in and in no way was it a bad move but it will not make them contenders alone.

While I agree that the slump might have acted as extra motivation for the trade, it was not a desperation move. It was the move that needed to be made and Masai Ujiri had plans on adding Ibaka for quite a while now.

No reason not to do the deal, right?

Yeah Of course they do it but I am talking some media is making them the team to beat over that move. He helps but I do not see the move making them better than our team or even Boston right now.

The Craptors had a horrible 3rd quarter and were down 75-58 to the Hornets to start the fourth. Then they started the fourth on a 24-2 run, to win by 5. Weird game. If the Raps had lost, they would really be out of sorts.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Love have a history of dominating Serge Ibaka, going back to his Minnesota days?

He's averaged 24/16 over the last six years going against Ibaka. You are indeed correct. Pretty crazy to dive into K-Love's stats when he was the main attraction in Minny...some of his single game stat lines are other worldly.

Ibaka is much better playoffs performer though.. He is not a choker when it counts and he elevates his intensity and effort in the playoffs. Toronto is a team full of chokers so adding him is only going to help. Ross was nothing for them in the playoffs ever since he was drafted.

I know that John Wall has received some All Star selections, but I still think he is underrated. This guy is an elite athlete, one of the few point guards that can really play defense, and just is a truly gifted passer. He routinely throws anticipatory cross court passes with pinpoint accuracy like LeBron does. Wall and CP3 are the last of a dying breed of dominant pass-first point guards (in the vein of say Jason Kidd or John Stockton). I don't think he is quite on the level of Westbrook/Harden/Curry/CP3 just yet, but he really isn't that far off if you consider his overall impact.

Yeah he is good. Just can't stand him he sounds stupid when he tries to be the leader.
Wizards are playing so good right now because he opens up the game for everyone with his passing and speed. Porter is also underrated as fuark and is goign to be real good soon.

Agreed, he is an unfortunate victim of his PG peer's successes. The NBA is STACKED with PG's.

Arguably the best defender of the elite level guys for sure. He continues to increase his shooting percentages as well which was the only real knock people had on him for awhile.
