2016 Game #7 | #2 Ohio State @ Penn State | October 22nd, 2016 @ 8:00 PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Also...just now realizing Curtis Samuel had 2 carries...in a game where the weather was shit and they were struggling at the point of attack, that is a fireable offense.

Same thing that lost us the Sparty game last year.

And one of them was a long TD run. What in the actual fuck?

I really just want to win out and defeat Michigan.

Anything else is gravy. Not even worried about making the playoff. If we do, great, If not, won't cry one bit. Win out, beat Michigan. All I want right now.

2 carries for Samuel. This staff should be ashamed of themselves.

Especially when our OL couldn't pass block for shit. Well, they sucked at run blocking too, but at least running won't lose you 10 yards.

Reminds me of Va Tech in 2014. Just a bad loss against a bad team. Bad coaching. Bad execution. Just all around bad.

Yea, Weber has been a pretty big step back, but he's young. He wasn't running through any tackles tonight. Caught a swing pass late in the game and got taken down by a one armed tackle around his shoulder pads.

I understand he is young and needs to be developed. The problem is they used him tonight like a featured back when a clear better option in Samuel is there. Saving Samuel for bigger games bite this team and they refused to switch up the play calling to take control of the game.

This team is so young and we needed this loss. Better to get it now...
If OSU wins out they still will make the playoffs... The suck off for Bama is going to be painful and ScUM but it will be so awesome when we win out... But still the MSU game and this game I just do not get the play calling...

Another head scratcher to me is the lack of counters and trap plays that ALWAYS worked. 85 yard run against Alabama comes to mind.

OSU's playbook:

1st down: Option to the short side of the field for -2 yards;
2nd down: Dump off pass close to the sideline for a 4 yard gain;
3rd down: Hitch route 3 yards short of the marker;
Rinse and repeat.

Something about that weather.

Team loses their minds, as someone else said.

This started happening when Tim Beck came around. The buckeyes in the Urban Meyer era have been built on being aggressive, yet when the weather gets bad they go into a shell with play calling.

The moment they stop being aggressive in the play calling the whole team suffers. The rest of the team feeds off the offense being aggressive especially on 4th down and short.

The speed options need to be thrown into the god damn recycle bin. Utter garbage.

The counters and screens were always so well aligned before. It took advantage of the speed our hybrid players had. Now screens are easy to sight and players aren't getting the ball in motion. Zeke would get the ball on an outside screen already running, all the screens and dump downs now the RB is stand waiting for the ball.

No. 2 Ohio State's 24-21 loss to Penn State on Saturday night does not eliminate the Buckeyes from College Football Playoff contention.

In fact, they are still projected in the playoff.

Ohio State will be projected as the No. 4 seed, still as the Big Ten champion, falling two spots but remaining in the top four.

College Football Playoff projections
Bowl Date Location Matchup
Peach Bowl Dec. 31 Atlanta, Ga. (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State
Fiesta Bowl Dec. 31 Glendale, Ariz. (2) Clemson vs. (3) Washington
Every other team that has a shot at beating Ohio State will have to do so either in Columbus (Nebraska and Michigan both come to town) or Indianapolis in the Big Ten title game.

Ohio State would win a three-way tie with Michigan or Penn State, should that occur, as the Nittany Lions' loss to Pitt would drop them from the tiebreaker and the Buckeyes would have a win over the Wolverines head-to-head in that scenario.

That's how everything stands now. Full bowl projections will be available Sunday.
