It's not a matter of being gassed as in huffing and puffing on the mound. It's a matter of your pitches lacking their typical movement when your arm is tired, and the way the Cubs were hitting, you weren't stopping them with mediocre stuff.

In Game 1, Kluber was Kluber. In Game 4, he had above average stuff and balls of steel. In Game 7, he was Trevor Bauer. But there really wasn't anything else they could do. Are you going to go with Merritt in Game 4 to keep everyone on regular rest? I can't argue for that. When you're missing two of your top three, you have to try to make sure it doesn't go seven games, and that's what Tito did. I just wish he would have gone with Salazar over Bauer in Game 5. So he could only give you three innings. Bauer wasn't going to give you more than that. And his wildness and straight fastball is just what they needed to wake up their bats. And why put Salazar on the roster just to have him for garbage time?

The three-run rally may have honestly been the happiest sports moment of my life.

You gotta start rooting for the Cavs man. :chuckle:

Lot of us were literally crying.

But yes...fucking Rajai Davis??????

I do love the Cavs, and I bawled like a child while at the Q for Game 7.

Baseball, to me, has been life. It's been my family's passion forever, it was my passion in high school and college as a player, it's been my profession for nearly a decade.

Something like that was just so unexpected and brilliant. Having the ball land about 20 feet from me, icing on the cake.

I've seen a ton of cool shit in baseball to this point, even live, but that was far and away the best thus far.

Most painful loss of my sports life by far. I wish we wouldn't have came back so it would've been easier to swallow. This is gonna hurt forever... or until we witness a World Series victory .

Honestly, I never got as fired up during the Cavs run as I did when Davis hit it out there. I usually don't post about the teams unless I want to come bitch about them, and the baseball season is too long to feel the need to vent about a blown save in July or something with 80 games left. But I watch them. I love the Cavs and love basketball, but the Indians winning the World Series would mean more to me, maybe even more than a Browns Super Bowl.

I remember '97 Game 7. It was what made me the bitter mother fucker I am today. When Davis hit that out I started wondering if the fans would rush the field like in college football if we won the game.

Nah man...

I'm glad they came back. Getting dominated in a game 7 would have been much worse than tying it. Getting humiliated was much worse.

It was fun getting close. I was positive they'd win game 6 and then I was positive they'd win game 7. Then i was positive they'd take it in the 9th. :chuckle:

All of that is much more fun than being certain Golden State is going to shit all over you in game 6 in '15. Just like being positive the Cubs are going to shit all over you from the 4th inning through the 9th.

I had a ton of fun last night.

Still got goosebumps when Davis hit that home run.

I will say that I've never said Ho-LEE Shit more times in my life than I did when he hit that home run. :chuckle:

I had myself up to 10.

Hadn't seen LeBron/K-Love's reaction until just about five minutes ago.

Goddamnit I love my city.

The Cubs fans in front of me have a solid video of me hugging/tackling my dad while we both screamed "OH MY FUCKING GOD" about 10 times.

Feel the complete opposite. It would have left a very bitter taste in my mouth if we went out with a 5-1 whimper. We tied it up, forced it to extras and made it a game until the final out. We fucking competed until the very end. No one can say we didn’t give it our all. That’s way more easier to accept than a team that couldn’t even show up to the moment.

Fuck.

I mean...I was 100% positive they had it in the 9th. Much, much moreso than that fuck Mesa.

It's much different when you're hitting and it's tied and you have that momentum.

This does suck.

It's weird.

It kind of doesn't feel like they lost every once in a while. I'm still sort of excited because of that comeback.

I'm the exact same way.

I was thrilled when the Cavs won, no doubt, but baseball has and always will hold a special place in my heart. My memories of those 90s Indians teams are the reason that I am a sports fan today.

Had the Indians won last night, I would have been in tears.

I have no doubt that they are going to slightly retool and be right back there next year, healthier and more experienced and ready to end their drought.

I had a few dreams that we had another game, wake up like WTF why do I have to be teased.
