2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Thunder are only 2.5 GB of home court. No way they miss the playoffs and I highly doubt they are selling George at the deadline. I think they would be more likely to drop Melo because PG13 has a ton of long term value.

George has long term value if he re-signs, which, if we're going by the current situation, he almost certainly won't. Trading melo is also easier said than done, because he has a massive amount of money guaranteed next year and his reputation has never been worse around the league. You're not getting rid of Melo, George is most likely gone in the off season, why not try to sell george for some assets to help you reload?

I think Melo gets bought out if everything goes wrong. I also think they are naive enough to thing PG would come back if they made the playoffs.

I don't know man... Do you really think Presti would be that ignorant after KD split? Presti has always struck me as pragmatist, if you have a problem then make sure you get the best out of the situation. If they keep underperforming, losing to bad teams, putting up bad numbers, etc. I think there's a good chance he'll start taking calls from around the league about PG.

Very rational thinking. I just cant see OKC getting too many shots at superstar like players. I know Russ is locked up, but his sidekick just wont walk through the door.

If going after George is a reality in any capacity, we should keep an eye on a few things:

Philly (cap space)
Chicago (cap space)
Atlanta (3 1st rounders in 2018 one of which is probably going to be the last pick)
Mavericks or Grizzlies (large contracts that could be moved)

We have to find a way to get good assets from a 3rd team without giving up our BK pick. I know its not promising right now, but I think its still going to be super valuable. If this move happens, I could see it happening in June and everything unfolds in a similar manner to how the CP3 option went down.

Maybe something along the lines of:
Cleveland Acquires: PG13
Chicago Acquires: Miles Plumlee
OKC Acquires: Iman Shumpert + CLE 2018 + Houston 2018
Atlanta Acquires: Tristan Thompson + we lift the protection on their 2019 pick

Would you take Gobert over him?

I take Adams over Gobert because his feet are much better. Gobert is a monster and a game changer, but he is still a plodder and can be taken advantage of that way with a small lineup. Adams hangs with a small lineup and you can't take advantage of him in any situation. On our team, we would basically be unstoppable. I would trade the brooklyn pick for him personally. I was in on that trade for Love + pick and TT for Adams and Paul.

IT JR Paul Lebron Adams. That lineup with our bench beats golden state. No doubt in my mind.

While I probably wouldn't go as far as you would for Adams, I think you bring up a good point that his defensive versatility is better than Goberts. I just think that Gobert is such a massive game changer at the rim that it still kinda off sets Adams versatility.

He is a monster and a game changer. It's hard to see into the future, but who does better switched onto Durant? I know you shouldn't build your team to beat a specific opponent, but I think Steven Adams game can improve more than Goberts. Adams works better in space. Gobert takes space away form your own offense. I could be totally off, but Adams is big and fast and gives GS fits

My ideal answer would be Paul George, honestly. He may not be the rim protector Adams is, but he is a hell of a perimeter defender, and shoots the ball well enough that he doesn't ruin our spacing.

Again, that is the ideal answer, not necessarily the most realistic :chuckle:

Mirza Teletovic (Bucks) out indefinitely due to bilateral blood clots in his lungs.

Ouch.

Why do so many basketball players have these? Are they taking some drug or supplement that causes this?

Tall makes sense. The air travel I wonder about. No doubt they fly a lot, but I know business guys that literally fly every single day. Mysterious.
