2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Robin Lopez looks really good against the Warriors hmm

Not a lot of defense so far in Warriors/Bulls

40-38 after 1 (bulls leading)

edit:
Game was 72-72 and I went to get some lunch.
I came back at it was 91-72?

The stuff I'm seeing is that Bell only sprained his ankle. Are you guys seeing differently?

He is my main target. I think he makes more sense than DJ because he is more of an offensive threat and a better defender IMO.

Miami at the Bucks. Interesting game, Miami very impressive in how they continue to execute plays down the stretch, keep moving the ball, rarely settle for iso. They might not have any all stars but they are a smart team who play for each other. Bucks are a mess on the other hand given their talent level, no discernible system, crap spacing, Giannis, Middleton and Bledsoe taking it in turns to go one v one.

Delighted that Bledsoe did not end up at the Cavs this summer, limited player, tons of athletic ability but tunnel vision in how he plays, a crap Westbrook.

I know there are several folks not the greatest fan of Tristan's contract (I'm more sour on his play/fit recently than the $, but it all adds up), but just remember, it could be worse...

...

Here's some examples:

Luol Deng, 32 years old:
2017-2018 : 17.2 million
2018-2019 : 18 million
2019-2020 : 18.8 million
All years guaranteed, no team/player options
-------------
2017-2018 season: 1/44 game played, 2 points, 1 assist, 1 steal, 13 minutes

Good luck dealing that one, LAL, for a few years...
Maybe if they attached some of their young talent and traded to a rebuilding team. Would be interesting to see that happen and for LA to proceed in striking out in free agency.

Chandler Parsons, 29 years old:
2017-2018 : 23.1 million
2018-2019 : 24.1 million
2019-2020 : 25.1 million
All years guaranteed, no team/player options
------------
2017-2018 season: 26/42 games played, 8.8 ppg, 2.8 rpg, 2 apg, 21 mpg, decent shooting numbers on low volume

One of the major pieces holding Memphis back is this guy and his bloated contract. They can't really take on any free agents (struck it rich with Tyreke Evans this year, though) or salary and they still have Gasol and Conley on their books for a ton.

Joakim Noah, 32 years old:
2017-2018 : 17.7 million
2018-2019 : 18.5 million
2019-2020 : 19.3 million
All years guaranteed, no team/player options
--------------
2017-2018 season: 6/45 games played, 1.7 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 36 minutes played total

Noah's best basketball days were 4-7 years ago. Despite this, New York thought it was a good idea to offer him this ridiculous deal last offseason (2016-2017) even though he probably didn't have many suitors (I understand TT may be in the same banana boat here during the time of his deal, however, the Cavs were coming off a Finals run where he was a beast). Maybe they were trying to recreate that Rose+Noah magic?

Wow I cant believe that Chandler Parsons contract is real. Holy shit.

Fuck that guy. I have never felt less sorry for anyone ever even if he is an injury magnet.

Really, really ridiculously good-looking, dates Victoria's Secret models, and will make $75 million for popping pain pills for three years.

Lucky bastard and his stupid abs (though they could be a conspiracy according to Embiid and Gobert).

Yep - it's just an ankle sprain. Jordan Bell just pulled a Paul Pierce.

I'm hoping his "Tribute/Jersey Retirement" presentation is just an unedited video of the wheelchair moment.

The Truth's legacy lives on. ;)
