2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dislocated shoulder for Prince Luc...on one hand, most people wouldn't count him among their 4-5 best players. On the other hand, the Rockets aren't a very deep team, and it's hard to overstate how big the dropoff is defensively from Luc to JJ and Gerald Green.

Yeah sucks that they guy who being out would make it easier on LBJ is the same one you want to check KD.

But if Kawhi comes back, Spurs could be a good option, but Kawhi would likely still be super rusty.

So Pelicans can't be 7th seed? That would be good, although they seem to play GSW well, but a series is a different game.

So who would play GSW better, Denver or Minnesota?

Minnesota I think? Wiggins plays well against them, and they don't have an answer for KAT?

I don't want to get too ahead of myself, but I think something's seriously wrong with him. A stat line of 4 points, 3 boards, 3 assists, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 5 turnovers would've been unthinkable for Draymond last year. And it's not a complete anomaly; he's had a lot of super-terrible games in the last couple weeks.

If he wasn't such an ass, I'd feel bad saying this but he looks like he's off the roids this year.
(Still I know he lost weight but his explosion in college was similar to what he's shown this year and not during the last 2-3 years)

Low key Green has had something of a down year. I agree you with his importance but he is the type who needs the others to be buying in to emphasize his strengths.

In other thoughts, Rubio with a shot would be a great fit next to Lebron, high quality defensive player, both man and team, only really struggles against the absurdly quick types, outstanding playmaker, little ego. Like a Mecha Delly.

I've always wanted this to see this a true PG who can play D and stretch the court with Lebron would be amazing and not something he's really had to work till arguably this year with Hill/Calderon

Man, Ben Simmons is a physical specimen.

Milwaukee simultaneously letting me down, and showing why I wouldn't be afraid of them in a postseason series.

I know it's just 1 quarter, but they are on pace to lose by 112 pts, lol

So let's assume OKC wins, since they have 48. Then we can narrow it down, somewhat, easily.

Portland, Utah, and OKC will all have 48 wins, landing them somewhere between 3-6. The winner of NOP/SAS will also avoid 7-8. The loser of Minnesota/Denver is out. So here's what we've got:

NOP & DEN win: Denver is 7, SAS is 8

NOP & MIN win: SAS is 7, Minnesota is 8

SAS & DEN win: Denver is 7, New Orleans is 8

SAS & MIN win: Minnesota is 7, New Orleans is 8

So the easiest thing to root for, if you don't want San Antonio in 7th, is for Denver to win.

anyone else have the uneasy feeling that the rockets will be upset in the first round because of a tough matchup and GSW will moonwalk to the finals again?

maybe i just have PTSD
hope i'm wrong
i'll be wrong
hopefully

I took them +6.5, they are the only game that will likely stop me from collection on a 7 game parlay.

Westbrook shamelessly padding those rebounds to average a triple double. Pushing teammates out of the way, leaving his man wide open to camp by the basket.

Laughable.

If Minnesota wins, they'll get either the Wolves or Pelicans. Can't see either of those teams beating the Rockets in a 7 game series.

WELL....... if all these scores hold, it's basically my worst-case scenario. Golden State would get the Pels, Houston gets the Wolves, Philly maintains the 3 seed and gets the easiest match-up in Milwaukee.

yup. if i was a betting man i'd have put on ton on this scenario

OKC at #6 isn't bad. I think they can take Portland or the Jazz.

Curry will likely be back by the second round but I can't imagine he will be 100%.

If OKC can get it together they have more than a punchers chance.

Yes, look at him the other night against Harden, actually committed to defending his man instead of sagging off looking for boards, numbers were not as good but his performance was better. WB is a walking example of how overrated stats can be.

In other games Jokic is a terrible defender, makes Love look like an All Defensive team candidate.

Russ, 17 rebounds in 23 minutes to secure the average, next highest on his team has 3:chuckle:
