That's the thing. Indiana's not going to get much for a rental. And if Cleveland is intent on getting George then convincing him to stay? That gives us trade flexibility [that other teams won't risk] to work with.

Why is everyone operating under the assumption that the Lakers don't have the same salary cap as the rest of the league

So LeBron is going to take a paycut to go lose to the warriors every year and have all the Kobe stans use it against his legacy that he couldn't win with the Lakers but Kobe could?

I dream of a day where the top free agents aren't just lazily always linked to Boston, New York, and LA as if that shit even matters anymore
 
The problem to me is that if we do manage to land PG13 we absolutely need him to stay because if he doesn't you are talking about a 33 year old LeBron as a UFA next offseason and the Cavs wouldn't give him ANY shot at a title (because we WOULD need to give up substantial assets to get George that would make the team far worse without him).

Its a real risk.

Kyle Lowry will be a free agent this offseason and the All-Star point guard reportedly has ‘zero interest’ in re-signing with the Toronto Raptors, according to a report by the Toronto Star.

According to multiple sources, Lowry has been grumbling about dissatisfaction with the Raptors for months.

Toronto has no intention of offering a five-year max deal to Lowry, and even if they did, those close to Lowry say that wouldn’t change his mind.

After the Raptors’ playoff run ended, reports started to surface that Lowry wants to sign with his hometown team, the Philadelphia 76ers.

We can officially squash those rumors, as the Sixers are expected to draft point guard Markelle Fultzwith the first overall pick in the draft.

The San Antonio Spurs are also not likely to have interest in signing Lowry, whose level of play drops significantly in the postseason. For his career, Lowry averages only 14.9 points per game in the playoffs on a putrid 39.4 percent shooting from the field.
