2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't know why I put myself through the suffering of watching a Rockets game, but Harden is 7-20 and 15/15 at the FT line, 9 ast, 6 TOs, he's literally a one man gang.

Most of these FTs could go as non calls too. Shaq deserved 30 FTs a game just by watching Harden get calls.

But they're getting worked by Toronto.

I think the Warriors are going to blow the Celtics out Thursday. Like, literally obliterate them.

I never bet NBA but I really truly think the Warriors and whatever the line ends up being, is free money.

Man, you just can't hate on Ainge anymore. I made fun of him for years for not doing anything with all of his assets, but he's gonna get the last laugh.

His drafting wasn't absolute top notch the first couple of years during the rebuild, but they've just nailed the last two.

He got shat on by a whole host of people here for trading down and taking Tatum. Anyone still hold those feelings? Tatum looks good. If it weren't for Ben Simmons, I'd say he'd be the leading ROY candidate.

As of today, with the buy-in from the available players and the system already taking shape only one month into the season, I would say the Celtics pose more of a threat to the Warriors than we do. Im glad we dont play them until Christmas.

I don't trust Boston in the playoffs: for all of their regular season glory, coaches when they get to gameplan against Stevens over a series seems to take away the coaching advantage rapidly.

I don't think he's saying they're much of a threat..just more than us.

That is to say, if we played them in a 7 game series today, we'd have a 0.0% chance of winning. It would be a massacre.

Meh, the chances of any team beating GS this season is 0.0 at this time TBH barring injuries, trades, etc.

Boston always plays them tough in RS though, don't they?

I'm inclined to bet on Boston depending on the points they get from Vegas.

Really couldn’t disagree more. No amount of buy-in/system gives that Boston team a better chance against GS than the Cavs have.

Their buy-in and system is directly designed to overachieve in the regular season . Which they are doing very well at and I give them credit(didn’t see them coming together so fast..thought they’d be worse defensively but Smart and Horford aren’t letting it happen)

Then it comes crashing down to earth in a 7 game series where everyone is trying hard the whole game and you can gameplan for a specific team.

But GS would still drop 110-120 a night, and Boston has no possible scenario in which they can keep up with that.

Their defensive efffort becomes a lot less effective in the postseason when teams are playing their best offense and attacking weaknesses.

The Cavs at least have a scenario where LeBron has 40-15-10 and Korver/JR/Crowder/Love hit 20 threes and we outgun them for a game or two.

Boston would be lucky to push a Cavs/Cs series to 6, even today with them standing at 13-2 and us 7-7.

If GS is primed and wanting to play tough defense tonight, I just don't think Tatum or Brown have experience much like it before. The combination of length and defensive aptitude that KD, Draymond, Iggy, and even Javale bring.

Now it is an early regular season game though and the W's are likely feeling themselves right now after their stretch of play over the past 10-14 days. So maybe they do the W's version of chill mode(win by 2 instead of 20)?

I don't understand why you keep only pointing out BOS regular season success. They had the #1 seed and made it to the ECF last season. They look like a better team, clearly the the best team so far this season and you're doubting them because????

We don't look like a better team than last years Cavs team and you can call me crazy but I don't think we will end this season as a better team than we were last year barring some really drastic roster and coaching changes. BOS has taken several steps forward this year and we've taken several steps back yet we're still going to mop them come playoff time? If you want to argue that we're looking this way without IT I can easily counter with BOS not having Hayward. They are better than us right now and unless something drastic happens to either team they will end the season better than us and there's a big difference in this matchup come playoff time this year. They have Kyrie now who's one of the best playoff performers in the league and a deeper younger roster than us.

If you want to argue that this matchup is one sided then the honest answer is BOS has more advantages than us. The only reason why we even have a punchers chance is because of LeBron.
