2017-2018 Around the NBA

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Speaking of Covington...

Just extended with the sixers for 4 years 62 million. About 15.5 million per year...

I think he could have gotten more than that pretty easily. Thought 18-22 was the range.

Great move by Philly and always glad to see a guy set himself up for life. He earned it.

He's been their best player so far this season.

I understand where you're coming from with that sentiment but I totally disagree. Embiiid is their best player. RPM/ +/- be damned. Simmons too, probably. Though his youth probably technically makes your statement right but still.

Yeah, Covington has been their best player the way Jae Crowder was the best player for Boston last year.

Embiid looked like a potential superstar last year when he was hitting 3's and averaging 3.5 blocks per 36. This year the only outlier stat that remains is his ridiculous turnover rate. He's been completely overhyped, imo.

In other words, he's not their best player at all. Not even close.

No man. YOu've made this same mistake before with Crowder vs Kyrie. Take Embiid and put him anywhere and he's an all-star. Take Covington and put him anywhere and he's not having the best season of his career.

Simmons is just such an awesome player. His game is literally perfect for the NBA. Really says a lot about the college game and LSU in general given how he looked the way he did at LSU.

I think he might even end up a better player than Embiid long-term. Even if both remain healthy.

Orlando looks legit. Aaron Gordon looks legit. And Frank Vogel is still a damn good coach and Indiana made a mistake letting him go.

Gordon seems borderline all-star, he has the tools, developing, and will eventually get more tools. I really like his skillset, definitely not the tweener people thought he'll be.

Minnesota is really good. Definitely seems like they've made the leap.

Thibs really putting his imprint on that team.

Adding Butler was obviously huge. He's been such a good team guy. Literally hasn't given a shit about his offensive role...but has been their defensive anchor and often tries to make sure they're running their offensive sets.
Really wish we could have gotten Butler somehow over the summer. Oh well.

It kind of grinds my gears that guys who sat out their rookie years are considered "rookies". Like seeing Simmons referred to as a rookie kind of irritates me. I know that technically they are since it's the first season they've played, but I still don't like it. Sorry I'm kind of rambling.

Lonzo looking good tonight. Looks like a guy that will hold the all time lowest FG% and 3pt% crown.

I will say Ingram is starting to grow on me...

He might still "make it". Needs to develop that jump-shot though and the three ball especially. His time-line is still a couple years down the road.

If LBJ goes to the Lakers he's 100% conceding titles for the rest of his prime. For this reason I think they're no longer a threat.

This LAL VS PHI game is INSANE

PHI is really good now

Simmons and Embiid are the new era Shaq and Kobe

Embiid should get more credit for his passing ability out of the post. He’s insane in all parts of the game. This dude at 7 feet is somehow a very good defender on the perimeter. Simmons is just a basketball god right now at 20.
