2017 Browns Mock Draft Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I don't see the Browns go QB at 12. Like, I am really, really confident they don't. I just cannot see the value of taking Kizer, Watson, or Trubisky (if he falls) as our second pick.

As far as QB is concerned, Browns should definitely draft one, however, it has to fit value. Im not sure where Davis Webb is projected, but - I like him in the later rounds, if available. I have sold out and jumped on the Davis Webb train!

Late first to third. Think he falls in there somewhere.

CBS (Rang):

NFL.com (Reuter):

1. Myles Garrett - DE, Texas A&M: Cleveland can wait on getting that passer and take the player at the top of most teams' boards.

12. Deshaun Watson - QB, Clemson: Watson should be picked higher than this, but that chip on his shoulder should serve him well.

33. Cleveland Browns: Quincy Wilson, CB, Florida

52. Cleveland Browns (from Tennessee Titans): Jabrill Peppers, S, Michigan

65. Cleveland Browns: Ethan Pocic, C, LSU

103. Cleveland Browns: Eddie Vanderdoes, DT, UCLA

136. Cleveland Browns (compensation for C Alex Mack): Adam Bisnowaty, OT, Pittsburgh

139. Cleveland Browns (compensation for S Tashaun Gipson): Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU

Just to give a heads up on people we passed up on with the 12th pick and Peppers pick:

People past 12: Adams (16th), Tre-Davious White (17th), Njoku/Howard, Cook, Corey Davis

People past 52: Budda Baker, Leggett, Zach Cunningham, Adoree' Jackson, Malik McDowell, McMillan (last pick in the 2nd before we pick Pocic, which I love that pick if we don't sign a FA Center)

Of course no idea how it's gonna play out, but mother of all hell, if Adams is sitting there at 12, you paper airplane that pick up to the podium.

With the Peppers pick, he is free falling like crazy, but sooner or later, the risk could be worth the reward. Now should we be taking risky picks in the mid-2nd? Pretty much, no. But give him a couple years, ya never know.

It's hard to draft a guy in the mid-2nd when you don't even know where you are gonna place him. But hot damn it's gonna suck if he falls to the last pick in the 2nd, the Patriots get him, and he turns out to be a fucking stud down the line.

65 days.

What are your thoughts on Webb, if he falls to a reasonable/value draft spot?

I definitely like the measureables - 6'5, 230 and a pretty strong arm. He has had some accuracy issues, especially on sideline/deep throws. Not to mention he also comes from the Air Raid offense, with quick one read throws.

Huge project, but projectible enough to provide some good value to a team not needing the QB to make an impact right away with enough talent to be confident in his future.

Another guy who would fit well in New Orleans or Arizona, not so sure about how the fit would be in Cleveland.

One of the 4ths also goes to Philadelphia to complete our end of the Wentz trade.

MATT MILLER POST-COMBINE- 7 ROUNDER:

1. Cleveland Browns - The Pick: DE Myles Garrett, Texas A&M

This should be a no-brainer for the Cleveland Browns after the three years Myles Garrett put on tape at A&M and the all-world performance he showed at the combine. But these are the Browns we're talking about, and no one in the NFL has much faith in the team to do the right thing. :chuckle::oops:

Garrett should be the pick, though. Drafting a quarterback is the biggest need, but the Browns' front office would be lying to themselves if they think there is a top 10 quarterback in this draft. There isn't—especially not in that offensive system. Garrett might not throw touchdowns, but he'll keep the opposing team from scoring them with his traits as a pass-rusher. He's also an ideal locker room guy and would be an instant leader on a young defense with up-and-coming stars.

12. Cleveland Browns (from Philadelphia) - The Pick: TE O.J. Howard, Alabama

I'm fully prepared for all the outrage from Cleveland Browns fans over this selection, but if Hue Jackson didn't want Jared Goff or Carson Wentz last year, I find it hard to believe he'll want Patrick Mahomes or DeShone Kizer here.

O.J. Howard is as freaky as they come at tight end, and with Terrelle Pryor and Corey Coleman already on the roster at wide receiver, it makes sense to go with a middle-of-the-field target like Howard to make life easier on the quarterback and harder on defenses.

Wide receivers Mike Williams and Corey Davis are higher-ranked players on my board, but a playmaking tight end in Hue's offense is a perfect fit for whomever is throwing the football.

33. Cleveland CB Tre'Davious White, LSU

52. Cleveland (from Titans) S Marcus Williams, Utah

65. Cleveland QB Nathan Peterman, Pitt

108. Cleveland WR Noah Brown, Ohio State

142. Cleveland* SS Tedric Thompson, Colorado

145. Cleveland LB Alex Anzalone, Florida

175. Cleveland (from Patriots) WR Stacy Coley, Miami (FL)

181. Cleveland* RB Justin Davis, USC

185. Cleveland OT David Sharpe, Florida

First try at a mock draft. Only did the first four rounds. I don't know how Howard fell to the 2nd (so did Fournette), but show me a better outcome than this.

Quarterback shmorterback.
What an unprofessional site. Can't believe they spelled Trombinski wrong. He's the second pick in their draft!

Must have been nice to be drafting with Girlscout Troop 250 based outta Toronto.
Or the Brooklyn Nets front office:lemo:

Worried about Pocic and the physics behind a tall center. My belief for many years was that tall centers struggle with shotgun snaps because there is more room for error, like a huge golf swing rather than a compact golf swing. There's also the obvious concern about quarterbacks significantly shorter than the center when passing from the pocket. I'm intrigued though. Dude is a talented run blocker.
