2017 Browns Off Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
#1 WR isn't a position on a depth chart?

Michael Thomas will always be the best WR in that class and it was pretty obvious a year before that draft. Oh well.

To be fair, he has a first ballet Hof'er throwing to him and Coleman was a known project before the season started and Coleman was hurt most he season.

The only reason I have talked myself into Coleman out of that draft is Al Saunders. Coleman is a little undersized and may end up more of a slot guy, but I see the Steve Smith type of traits Hue saw in him. Saunders is the best receiver coach of the past two decades. If anyone can coach Coleman up, it's Saunders.

Cooper was an 83-1200 guy last year but oooooookay, and yeah. We'll go with that one.

How likely is it that Coleman can post 80-1100-5?

Probably like an 8-9, honestly.

Of course, you could have picked a better WR than Amari Cooper.

But by all means, keep going with this inane discussion of what constitutes a #1 and dismissing Coleman's chances of getting there after 10 games played.

There. Fixed.

Looking back at what everyone has been saying

@Triplethreat the Browns will have three RBs on the roster plus one on the Practice Squad. Greco likely isn't starting the season on the active roster since he won't be ready for the season more than likely as well. Plus this is normally a 4-2-5 defensive scheme with some variations. You are right about Cooper being a number one, but you are judging Coleman way, way, way toooo early in his career. We had veterans in Hawkins, Pryor and Barnidge in the Receiving game, plus injuries to Coleman. Now it is on all the first and second year players to step it up and don't forget about the WR Hall, who everyone of the browns analysts said could make the team if not for an injury. Outside of Britt and Coleman, the rest of the WRs will not be set in stone for awhile. I think Coleman actually will be legit WR and I am pretty sure most of the board agree with that

@AZ_ I agree with the roster setup for the most part, but Cooper is a legit number 1 receiver in Oakland. He is 22 years old and already has 2,200+ receiving yards. Now the amount of TDs does concern me a bit, but do not forget Crabtree also had a 1,000 yards in receiving plus 8 TDs. I think Coleman will get 1,000 yards in the near future with 5-8 TDs so he will reach the same numbers as Cooper, but part of me believes Jackson will want to spread the ball around between WR and TE, so I wonder if we will end up a balance of yards or two guys who have 1000+ with no one else having more than 300 area like Oakland did last season.

Only to us OSU homers, though.

I had no idea he had such an excellent rookie year. I too was on the Thomas bandwagon- alot of teams screwed up letting him slide by.

So to be fair the Browns took a guy who was less ready and more injury prone? That isn't really helping the argument.

Posted this in the game thread but I know a lot of people don't check that.

Is it me or does the girl in black look like she could start at d-tackle next to Garrett?

Those are football pants, what you would wear on the field without the pads in,

WTF for sure.

I actually just think it's ULTRA tight white jeans after a second look. Weird choice though. :chuckle:
