2017 Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Aside from you, I feel like I'm talking to myself about Howard Wilson. The dude should be able to practice tomorrow; you'd think the media would ask a damn question about his progress. But no, we get this from Grossi.

Professional.
Why did he almost lose it?

I don't give a fuck who gets the credit. IF we are going to be a winner regardless, so be it. Time will tell who is right, though.

So go 2-30 or worse in first two years ... I mean, that'd get anybody fired, but you want to keep going...so what can we expect in year 3? Can we expect the turnaround to finally show fruit? Or are we waiting until year 4 for that? How are we quantifying it?

For starters I would suggest not to get too caught up. Simply adjust your expectations. My prediction for this season was that we would go 11-5. Now I said that because that's what I thought would be the absolute best case scenario that would require a lot of things going our way. Am I upset that we aren't going to go 11-5? No. I knew the was a higher chance of me being wrong than right.

When I say adjust you expectations here's what I did. First of I recognize that Jimmy Haslam and the FO know that they are essentially tanking. They know that. Hue Jackson knows that as well. The reason Hue is so frustrated is because with the tanking going on Hue will not be afforded the pieces he wants and needs to be successful. Of course Hue Jackson fucking knew this going in. He knew that it would get bad. I think the reality is setting in hard and that's what frustrates him. It's why I don't think he or the FO will get fired after this season. They are experiencing the hardest part of the rebuild right now. The reason why it looks so bad is because this isn't a normal rebuild like other teams.

We aren't rebuilding after going on a run. We are literally rebuilding what was already a shit franchise for 20 years. We had nowhere to fall from to be this low. We wee already down here. The difference between now and years past is this time we are actually building a culture and a foundation that we can progress with. Pick any year since 99 and ask yourself where we were heading. What was our plan? Were we trying to wi games? Were we doing a mini rebuild? We we just inept? At least now we know what the hell we are doing and yes they do know what they are doing. The fans just don't like it but that's what's so confusing to me because we haven't been shit for 20 years. People acting like we a ruining Browns football like it hasn't been ruined for years.

I don't even want to throw out deadlines and timelines about when something has to happen or else. I will just say this. This FO coaching staff was put together last year. They tore the team down. Coming into this year they tore it down even more and took a 1-15 team and made them younger and more inexperienced. They didn't go out and try to cheat the rebuild. They are still building the foundation. Instead of demanding when the turnaround will come I suggest to let the process play out. Things can speed up or slow down for a number of reasons. Injuries, players bust, players outperform their expectations.

Just sit back and embrace the process. It may not be what you want but it's long overdue.

You are going to be just as pissed as us when the "process" ala the 76ers plays out for 5 years and we still suck.

lololol No I won't. I'm 29. The last time The Browns were really good I was 1. I won't be anymore pissed then I have been. This is what's so confusing. The Browns are bad and have been bad and are taking a different approach to fix it. If it doesn't work and they're still bad then it is what it is. They tried it though. And I do think it's going to work because it's already working right now.

No it isn't. They're 1-21, nothing is working yet.

I'll give the FO credit if they stick around and fix this, but I'm not heaping praise on them for 1-21 like you are right now. I need results first.

These are the results of what they are doing though lol. What should the results be lol? We are in the stage of the process where there will be a lot of losses. It's an extreme tank job. Looks like it's going according to plan.

The strategy seems to be working fine. It is the execution of that strategy that isn't working.

@Los216 , for fucks sake, you had this team winning 11 games this year. This team can't even compete, let alone win a game. If they were executing the strategy, this team would be better.

Just because you wrote a good outline for an essay doesn't mean you wrote a good essay. You have to actually write it well.

I have no problem with Sashi at this point. He blew things up, added a base of young talent, has not missed on too many first 3 round picks, like that so far (although Wentz is a tough miss watching him play)

But Hue is inexcusable. They go and get a vet qb perfect to be a bridge qb, they have him cut. He has a starter from last year that looks like he could have been ok as a starter this year, he isnt active.

He then decides to start the youngest rookie qb ever, and then sits him and its worse...blowing up in his face.

On top of that, Hue's has been terrible at calling plays, a duty he should not be doing anyways.

Whoa there. Osweiler? They got him for the pick and he's in no way a perfect bridge QB. Don't think Kizer is a lost cause. I do agree that we should have someone else call plays.
