That seems logical. Although, I'd feel a lot more comfortable is ND went ahead and lost that 3rd game.

That would be ideal. Then Miami vs Clemson truly would be an elimination game.

We're good at 9. We'd jump ND with a win over undefeated Wiscy. Just need Bama, OU, Miami to win their shit.

ND is going to worry me until they lose another game.

Gonna disagree on the Michigan State wins being equal. They won in Michigan State, we won at home.

And then as far as Penn State vs. USC, I think those are even. They are separated by 1 spot in the rankings, so the committee must not see a big difference and on top of that, Notre Dame blew out USC while we won by a point. And if USC goes on to win the Pac 12, then I think you're just flat out looking at a better win.

I think we need to totally dominate Wisconsin, like back in '14, to hop them.

But I still can't get to excited because I very much expect Miami to go into the title game with no losses and drop the game against Clemson, making it nearly impossible for Ohio State to get in.

While Notre Dame is at home, we're theoretically beating an undefeated top 5 Wisconsin.

Not worried in the slightest. Notre Dame doesn't have a win like that all year.

As I mentioned previously, root for USC to lose to worsen Notre Dame's best win.

We won by infinity. I bet they're viewed equal.

Yeah, USC would jump PSU in this scenario. Like one spot ahead.

And I didn't compare PSU to USC. I compared Wisconsin to USC. Wisconsin will finish ahead of USC even with a loss.

    Don't agree at all.

Totally agree. This is what scares me the most.

And people need to accept this now: If Miami is undefeated and loses to Clemson, Ohio State is done. Finished. Unless Oklahoma loses to WVU and loses the Big 12 title game. Which isn't happening. Likewise, if Bama loses to Auburn or Georgia, we're screwed.

The path couldn't be more clear.

Bonus for us if Miami loses before the ACC title game. Then we don't care who wins that game.
Also bonus if Oklahoma loses to WVU and in the Big 12 title game. Then they have 3 losses and are done. I don't think another Big 12 champ goes over us, unless Oklahoma has 2 losses and they put both in over us.

Those are even more unlikely than my scenario but if they happen, our chances grow significantly.

Think we are in if Bama wins out (or loses to Auburn), Miami/Clemson wins out, and Oklahoma wins out.

Pac 12 is eliminated right now. So that leaves the SEC, ACC, and Big 12 champions, and then the best of the rest. Would be hard for any other team to match OSU's resume, should they win out and beat a hopefully undefeated Wisconsin in the Big 10 title game.

The biggest threat to OSU's chances is still undefeated Bama losing a close game to Georgia in the SEC title game...exactly where we were at before the Iowa debacle.

OSU caught a major break with what happened last week.

We cannot have any 1 loss non-Champs left (excluding Wisconsin) or we're out. That's kind of my bottom line.

And even then, I want Wisconsin to be undefeated to feel good about making it over Notre Dame and 2 loss Clemson.

I could easily see the committee dropping 2 loss Wisconsin below USC (Notre Dame's best win) and 3 loss Auburn (Clemson's best win) and using that to justify putting one of them in over us.

Dream scenario: We make playoff, Michigan loses out, Tennessee wins out, they meet in the bowl game and Hoke beats Harbaugh.

If that happens I'll happily dig my own grave and lay in it.

I think we can. The worst thing for us was Bama and Georgia meeting undefeated in the SEC title game, cause if that was a close game, they could have easily picked the losing team to go in over a 2 loss conference champ. And even worse would have been Notre Dame being a potential 1 loss team, which would have had them impossible for us to pass IMO, and with their 1 loss being to Georgia, could have pushed a 1 loss non-conference champ Georgia even more over a 2 loss conference champ.

But a 1 loss non-conference winner like Miami wouldn't get in over a 2 loss conference champ like OSU...committee is making it clear, especially with Clemson's current ranking, that it isn't about who you lost to, its about who you beat...and if OSU was to have wins against PSU (who shouldn't lose another game), MSU (who shouldn't lose another game), and what should be an undefeated Wisconsin, that beats Miami's resume easily.

Only 1 loss non-conference champ who would worry me is Bama.

It is unbelievable how lucky OSU got last week with both Notre Dame and Georgia losing, on top of stomping the shit out of Michigan State.

I disagree; I think they put Miami in, especially if Notre Dame finishes 10-2, they'd likely finish ahead of Wisconsin, then Miami would have the best win and would not have lost to a shitty team by 30.

Like I said, the committee is looking at who you beat, not who you lost to, if they are ranking 1 loss Clemson over undefeated Miami and Wisconsin.

A win over Penn State is a wash with a win over Notre Dame. Penn State plays Maryland and Nebraska to finish the year. They too will be 10-2.

Who does Miami then put out there from their resume that is equal to Wisconsin, or even Michigan State after that?
