2017 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Oh well. Don't lose to Iowa by 31. Still a great season. Should be a fun matchup against USC in the Fiesta. Use this as fuel for next year.

I neither agree nor disagree with the selections.

One thing I think is certain, JT Barrett cost us a shot. He was awful yesterday and if he is average it was a blowout and we are in. Glad that that guy is moving on.

Can’t wait for Clemson to roll Bama by 3+ scores.

I'm sad we didn't make it but not surprised. JT isn't the QB to take us to the promise land. Hopefully this will be good thing for next year, maybe some guys will come back instead of leaving for the NFL because of this snub.

I always felt this was the rebuilding year to get the weapons on offense set for a better passer to come in at QB. Haskins (or Burrows) should have a experienced group around him so he won't be leaned on like JT has for these last two years.

Why is WIS #6? Bama dropped from #1 to #6 after a loss and WIS went from #4 to #6. So the committee must hold WIS in high regard to put them over USC so then how does Bama leap both OSU and WIS after not playing in a conference championship and having the team that they loss to the previous week get trounced?

Ultimately, Urban made a pretty big mistake with JT last night. If, granted a big if, Haskins balls and you win by a large margin, you could use finding a new QB as part of your case to be in. Winning ugly with JT looking below average slammed the door on already slim hopes.

Bottom line, getting throttled last year by Clemson on top of the Iowa game was too much to ignore. Computers may not remember last year, but it's impossible for those on the committee to completed disregard it.

If we had scheduled Youngstown St over Oklahoma, we'd be in.

That's true but you never know how the Big 10 will be viewed thru out the country. Schedules are made so far in advance that you have to try to keep them strong but not too strong. We just played Oklahoma in the wrong year.

Hopefully some players are in the pipeline to defend TEs going forward because that was killer for us all season. The coaching staff have leaned to far into the smaller faster linebacker.
