2017 Game #3 | #8 Ohio State vs. Army West Point | September 16th, 2017 @ 4:30 PM EST

Hahaha. So many people on the web jerkin their chickens over one Haskins drive against Army's backups. I hate our fans.

The arm strength difference was clearly noticeable. JT has a noodle arm, which limits our downfield options. Not enough to call for Haskins to start though, but I liked what I saw from him.

Also, Tuf Borland looked like a beast after Worley went down. I'd start him at MLB.

Don't think this team is going anywhere with JT at the front. Also don't believe the CFP committee is going to give OSU any love unless they make a move. Haskins arm strength and accuracy albeit only a small sample size in the spring game and Army game is far and away better than JT's. We have high level recruits in place to run the ball at the RB position. Let them do their job and let the QB do his. Haskins needs to play this year before another loss and before the season is a waste behind JT.

They need to play Haskins so that next year isn't a waste.

The frustrating thing is that JT's limitations could hinder our WR's growth. When the game plan is catered around JT's ability, the offensive play calling becomes very repetitive. I was happy to see us actually begin to work in some screens but sadly, even those weren't being delivered accurately.

We've been bitching about the WR's not getting separation but you also need a guy who can throw you open at times without hesitation. JT hasn't shown that ability at all this year.

Starting Haskins isn't necessarily the answer either. You don't want to divide the locker room but i'd like to at least see him get some meaningful reps. It's not like the dual QB system is uncharted territory for Urban. It's not ideal but neither is our current passing game.

Yeah, if Ohio State wins the Big Ten, I don't think the committee is going to give a shit either way whether Barrett or Haskins is the QB who got them there.

Also, you're definitely losing another game at some point in a scenario where Haskins plays QB the rest of the season.

How do you come to that conclusion?

With the way this team is currently playing, we are likely to lose another game regardless, whether JT is playing or not.

We have issues on the defensive side that need shored up in addition to our offensive woes. Luckily we have some tune-up games but if this team doesn't get it clicking, we could easily drop another 2-3 games.

He was the third string QB going into the season for a reason. Just today Meyer alluded to the fact that Burrow will be the backup once Joe's fully back from his broken hand.

And before you retort with "so was Cardale," he had a great three game run for sure. Who knows how he would have done over a full season.

As long our offense remains 10 yards and in, we are never beating an elite team again (especially with this team's pass defense being dreadful). And I'm not sure how that changes this season with what we have now.

I asked how you conclude that we would lose with Haskins, you didn't answer that question.

Also, Meyer did not allude that Burrow will be backup:

"The head coach added that Joe Burrow is close to being ready to come back after breaking a bone in his hand before the season started, and that the coaches will have a tough decision on who will be the backup to Barrett."

"We've got to make some decisions who is the first one in there," Meyer said.

In my opinion, those statements allude to Joe not coming back in and taking over his number two spot on the depth chart.

Fine. I don't believe a redshirt freshman quarterback who has never played in a meaningful college game could make it through a schedule that includes a home contest against a top 5 Penn State team and road games against Iowa and Michigan unscathed.
