In Game 2 of the ALDS, Verlander, Altuve and Correa all delivered for Houston. Our three best players in Kluber, Lindor and Ramirez were nowhere to be found other than Frankie’s grand slam in Game 2. With as much emphasis as there is placed on variance in the postseason, having your best players perform well in October typically leads to your team advancing. Look at how incredible Justin Turner has been for the Dodgers, while Bryant and Rizzo are scuffling mightily by combining to hit 3-38 so far in the NLCS.

Was thinking this as Correa shot that game winning gapper off of Chapman. For guys that are often compared, Correa is absolutely delivering (7-24, 3 HR, 9 RBI, .292 / .370 / .750) for his team while Lindor did very little.

Hopefully Frankie can learn to relax a bit more in big situations, always seems like he's over aggressive when the stakes are high

That Yankee Stadium man. Tough place to play.

CC is pitching like he's 25 again...amazing

I know we've bad some beat postseason beats in Cleveland, but pretty much every playoff series the Astros have ever been in, starting with the 1980 NLCS against the Phillies, they've suffered at least one brutal loss of a game they had in their hip pockets.

As much as we all hate to admit this, maybe the Yankees are just a better postseason team. Sure, the Tribe and Astros had better regular seasons, but NY has a lot of the elements that you need for postseason success. I realize Houston still has a chance to win this series. But, man, NY is a tough out.

I mean nothing seems to phase them. They were losing the wildcard game to the Twins and came back and beat them. They were down 2-0 to the Tribe including a crushing game 2 loss that would've broken most teams. They came back and beat them. They overcame a late 4 run lead to even up the series with Houston. I don't see Houston winning tomorrow in the Bronx. Can they go back home and finish NY off? I'm not so sure about that.

Oh, no doubt. I don't think anyone should've been sleeping on the Yankees going into the postseason. Any team with that kind of power in its lineup and that kind of bullpen is going to be tough. And their starters have come up large, too. Also, unlike the Tribe and Astros, the Yankees are playing with house money. There's no pressure on them. They're playing free and easy and it shows.

Like a great bullpen? And starting pitching? Strong lineup with few holes? The Tribe had everything you need except, apparently, the intangible. The Yankees are that team that got hot at the right time and will ride it to the World Series, kind of like us last year.

This 100%

The Indians, like the Yankees, are/were equipped as well as anyone to win the World Series. Our best hitters went ice cold, our best power hitter missed nearly 3 games (2 of which we lost), and our soon to be 2 time Cy Young winner's mechanics/arm slot/whatever got screwed up on the verge of the playoffs. And despite that were down a run heading into the 9th of Game 5 of the ALDS.

I wasn't saying it to absolve the Indians of any blame. They absolutely deserve to be blamed for choking in my opinion. But saying the Yankees are somehow built for the postseason better than the Indians is inaccurate.

I'm not saying they are. But they are a very good team, a better team than their record if you put a lot of weight on run differential. They beat us not because they're straight-up better but because a.) they were healthier in some key spots, and b.) they were in a better place psychologically than we were. They were loose; we were tight.
