Okay @D-Wreck, @BimboColesHair, @AZ_ since you guys seem to know about the minor leagues and get to watch them a lot more than me, where the heck did the .303 batting average Eric Stamets come from this season with 9 HRs. I know he hasn't played in every game, but the dude even at A ball couldn't put up those numbers. He has a major league level glove and couldn't hit .100 to Stuart the season. Anything on such a drastic change?

Also guys who is your biggest surprise and disappointments this season in the minors so far?

Shawn Morimando named International League Pitcher of the Week and Justus Sheffield named Eastern League Pitcher of the Week.

Grant Hockin (2014 2nd rounder) made his first start in almost 3 years yesterday with Mahoning Valley. Went 4 IP, 2 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K.

Mahoning Valley has an interesting squad to follow, especially once they get some of the 2017 draftees aboard. 2 starters coming back from Tommy John in Hockin and Zach Plesac, and another starter who may fly up our prospect rankings in Francisco Perez.

Obviously they also have Will Benson, Nolan Jones, Oscar Gonzalez, Ulysses Cantu, and Samad Taylor as well.

Should be a fun team to follow for 3 months.

Indians 5th and 6th round picks Austen Wade (TCU RF) and Mike Rivera (Florida C) playing in the CWS right now on ESPN.

Went to the mahoning valley scrappers game last night. Benson is huge. Ripped a 2-0 fastball down the line for a double. Nolan Jones? Had a couple nice plays at third. A very good patient AB. I was with some girl so that's all I really remember.

You watch the starting pitcher at all?

So when is the most likely time we will see Mejia in the majors? (assuming Gomes and Perez continue to struggle)

Damn. I'm slacking, huh?? Presco or something? He looked good. Ummm, threw alot of strikes. But not really. Like I said I was with some girl and we actually got seats way up high under the roof In case it rained. And we were behind the plate. Is he a top prospect?

Good probability of September of 18, but with injuries could be sooner. Also possible in due time someone like Gomes could be moved to 1st since he would be better defensively than maybe anyone else. Mejia has a nice swing and seems very comfortable behind the plate when I got to watch him at the Akron game i went to the other day. If we didn't have two very well respected defensive catchers in Gomes and Perez that have extended contracts, he would likely be up way sooner. He has a strong bat and having Sandy as one of our major league coaches, hopefully for a long time, he would be able to progress fairly well at the major league level. He should finish the season at AAA and start next season there, but I wouldn't be afraid to call him up if injuries happen this season to be sincere.

Gomes's numbers, in limited time, have been solid defensively at 1st and 3rd and he always batted better on the days we wasn't catching.

Lol at moving Gomes to first.

That's funny.
