2017 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
And just for reference, those 5 pitchers from 2016 have struck out 481 batters, and have only allowed 86 BBs in ~520 IP. 5.6 K for every 1 BB.

Bieber and Civale combined is a ridiculous 260 K to 20 BB in a little less than 300 IP. 13 K for every 1 BB. Unbelievable K to BB ratio.

No. Too many guys ahead of him who play the same positions, and better guys who will need protected too, most notably Yu-Cheng Chang.

Yes.

Is it possible we trade Chang this offseason? Part of me doesn't feel like we really have a place for him on the roster long term. The guy has had a ton of power this season, but numbers wise has been below average at SS and 3rd. With all the positions we have taken up but the backup bench spots, where do you see him being long term for Cleveland?

But I thought our farm system was garbage?

Need an ESPN 30 for 30 on how macb became such a bad poster in a short period of time.

Know exactly when it started...when he pegged Brady Aiken as the next Bob Feller...

No way.

21 year old MI with position flexibility slugging .460+ in AA in what I think is a down year for him is way to valuable to move, unless its moved for an All-Star caliber player in a package (like they almost did for Lucroy).

Thing with Chang is he is athletic enough to move everywhere by C...he's blocked at SS, but I don't think he makes it to the MLB playing SS, even though its where his power is most valuable...and I think that's the case no matter what franchise he is in...he won't make it as a SS. Can see him being a corner OF in a year or 2, believe it or not. .460 slugging and 20+ HRs plays in the corner OF...and we lack RH hitting OF prospects in the upper levels.

Wouldn't be shocked to see a position change for him one bit.

Bobby Bradley with #20. Went left center with it, absolute bomb.

For a 21 year old who completely retooled his swing and approach this off season and is learning to get comfortable with it on the fly in AA, impressive that he is still looking at hitting 25+ HRs this year.

It will be nice for him to take that improved swing and approach into the off season knowing he can still power balls out, while dropping his K% dramatically...curious to see what he can add next, knowing how hard he works.

If we made a package around Chang (not including guys like Mejia, McKenzie, Allen, etc) more like Chang, Merryweather/Morimando, do you think we could acquire a player that could replace like Santana at 1st/play LF while we move Brantley to first that still had years of control? Or would you rather replace Santana from guys in house/just sign a stop gap until guys like Bradley are ready for the pros?

ps. 17 and 18 are years we can win it all and guys like Urshela, Gonzalez, Almonte are all out of options while we lose a bunch of guys in 19. I am trying to see what you think since you actually know what you are talking about on here.

Think he had the 3rd or 4th lowest OPS in the Carolina League a week or 2 before the break. 17th in the league now.

Pretty much skipped A ball and went straight from SS A to High A ball, so not all that surprising he struggled early on. But his on-base skills are impressive. The one trait we keep nailing in the draft is college hitters with high quality on-base skills, and hoping they develop either power or gap-to-gap hitting to go with those on-base skills.

Him, Allen, Kreiger, Mathias, Papi, Tom, Ice, just to name a few, and its looking like after this season, we can add Sam Haggerty and Mitch Longo (who is having an insane 2nd half for Lake County) to that list as well...we've been stocking up on those types in the draft the last few years.

He's one of the under the radar guys I had heard a little about before the season, so I've been tracking him.

These low-K, high-BB players are my favorite type of players.

Any idea why Longo isn't in Lynchburg?

Conner Capel continues to rake. 2 more hits, including another HR yesterday. So far in his 2nd half:

.286/.338/.548, 12 HR, 12 2B, 2 3B, 9 SB, 37 R, 33 RBI in 51 games. K% is down to 19%, compared to 22% in the 1st half. 26 extra base hits, 9 steals, and 58 runs created in 51 games is impressive, especially taking into consideration how shitty the lineup he is in is.

What is more impressive is that he is slashing equally, by OPS, vs both hands as a LH hitter. .264/.341/.479 vs LHP, .246/.315/.505 vs RHP.

Will be curious to see if he can take his newfound power to the Carolina League next year...

Bobby Bradley riding a 10 game hitting streak right now.

.390/.418/.659, 2 HRs, 5 2B, 10 RBI, 8 R, and 6 multi-hit games during that stretch.

Who are the guys to watch for that figure to be in the conversation for the Indians in the near future? By that I mean September callups and at any point in 2018 @BimboColesHair

Just curious as it seems like a lot of these guys are ~2-3 years away with the makeup of our current roster and where they are in development. Could be wrong on that though, don't pay too close of attention.
