2017 Playoff Picture

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
EVERY year people fall for this "Cavs are vulnerable" BS the media puts over because they clearly don't play like they care during the regular season.

If we didn't lose without Love and with a hobbled Kyrie and only decent chemistry in 2015, we're not losing with a deeper, more focused, less pressured team.

Cavs in 5 over anyone before the Finals

Agreed. If we are even close to healthy *knocks on every piece of wood in range* I dont think anybody can beat us. We have the chemistry, the experience.. hell the experience of coming back from 1-3 .. more depth, a close to Minnesota Kevin Love, Lebrons Jumpshot...

We almost won it in 2015 and won it last year.. With much worse Teams..

It wont be easy.. GSW might get KD back.. Spurs might get healthy. And even Houston or healthy LAC are really good Teams. But i feel confident

Thank you!!

I've been seeing so much "Cavs might not get past Boston or Wash,..., those teams are great!!"

As AC would say "Get that weak stuff outta here!!"

LeBron will activate beast mode. Kyrie seems to have a playoff beast mode of his own. Love will be back and he has a playoff beast mode too. (Funny how that works with great players..)

We have the best 2 players in every East series. We have 3 of the best 4 players as well. We are DEEP. TT,JR Korver Deron.

That's our top 7. That's an AMAZING top 7.

Then for our 8-11...

Shumpert, RJ, Frye, Derrick Williams

Then at 12-15 we have 1 huge x-factor, one legit defensive specialist, one legit defensive offensive specialist, and one loveable rookie towel waiver.

Sanders is a legit X factor. Could be huge.

Need a stop? Liggins could be huge.

Need a 3, sustained some injuries? JJ had made a career out of it.

And everyone on the team loves Kay. Waive that towel hard, dawg.

Finals will.be a dogfight. No matter who it is. We have a great shot, all you can ask for

We aren't losing in the East. Not saying we will easily walk thru it, but we aren't losing.

Looking at the playoff picture in the East, I really wonder if the one seed means much at all. If the season ended today and all the seeds held, the one seed would take us through the Bucks - Raptors - Celtics. The two seed would take us through Pistons - Wizards - Celtics. If Lowry is back I think the Raptors and Wizards are reasonably comparable (although if he is not then the Wizards are pretty clearly better). I'd rather play Detroit than Milwaukee in the first, although who cares so much about that. Home court against the Celtics is meaningful but I don't see it making the difference in a series.

Fundamentally, if Lowry is back and in playing shape then I don't see a strong preference between the Raptors-Wizards-Celtics in terms of who we should play. The Celtics are the least talented but the dirtiest and best coached. The Wizards might be the most talented but lack depth and playoff experience. The Raptors need Lowry, but if they have him they are dangerous with a deep frontcourt now to add to Lowry and DeRozan and a nasty perimeter defender in Tucker.

Hope Lue prioritizes being injury-free, rested, fit, and prepared (including giving Love/Smith/Korver the reps they need) over the one seed. Although hopefully we get both.

Unless something happens, it's looking like our first round match-up will be Indiana, Detroit, Milwaukee, Chicago, or Miami.

I'd laugh my ass off if Miami gets in and Chicago doesn't. Wade would [and should] feel terrible.

Why would Wade feel terrible? Riley is the one that wouldn't give him the time of day. And it seems the majority of Miami fans were/are on Wade's side.

Finally home. Time to fire up the league pass.

Minnesota, who has been playing very well recently, is up on Boston.

Dallas is only down 4 in Washington at halftime.

All these games are so important going down the stretch. With so few games left, bad losses make it that much more difficult for them to catch us.

I personally, REALLY want the 1 seed. I think it's relatively important, while rest is too, I think the 1 seed will help us get more rest during the actual playoffs. I think we are pretty likely to get it.

edit: Washington opening up the lead. Damn. Dallas stinks, Washintons also a good home team.

Boston closed the gap a bot, but still down 2. Should be a good second half tho. Towns is a problem for them

edit2: Oh shit, the Mavs within 1! Yogi!!!!!

edit 3: Wow. Mavs turned the game around completely. Up 10 with 5mins left... huge chokejob potential for Washington. This 12 year old looking white kid Nicolas Brussino has taken the game over.

edit 4: Gonna take a miracle for Washington now. Dirk is still awesome when he's feeling it, lol. Two huge dagger buckets. Scottie Brooks is a good coach but his offense late in games is so basic...always been his biggest weakness.

disappointing to see the convincing win from Boston over Minny. Now they are two games down (three in the loss column), but they have a MUCH easier schedule than we do the rest of the year. No back to backs or West Coast trips for them, and only one game against an opponent with a really good record (the Wizards). We've got FIVE back to backs left (!!) and games against Utah, the Clippers, the Wizards, the Spurs, Boston, and Toronto coming up, not to mention Chicago, which is not that good but always gives us trouble. Our game against Boston is a road game on the second night of a back to back -- we haven't won any of those all year. Gotta think that we will treat it like a playoff game if it is determining home court though.

If we want the one seed we are not going to be doing a lot of resting guys finishing off the year. The good thing though is that unless there is some injury (fingers crossed!) we will have all our depth back.

Ehh, I still think Boston will have a tough time making up 3 losses in such a short time.

Obviously that game against Boston will be a pretty important game, because it will likely determine the tiebreaker, so it's really worth an extra game. I bet the Cavs are more likely to sit guys on the front-end of that back-to-back, if they sit anyone at all.

So the Heat are now officially in the 8 spot in the East.

Dion's revenge in Round 1?

I'd like to see Indiana or the Pistons in the first round. Should be a relatively easy sweep with either of those two. Miami will give us more trouble with Whiteside and Milwaukee is young and athletic, and extremely long. We'd still win in 4 or 5 vs those two, but it'd be tougher.

And the Heat just (likely) ended Detroit's playoffs hopes with a tip-in at the buzzer.

I've lost track of the number of times the Wizards have come back from double digit deficits in the 2nd half. Did it again tonight.

Chicago somehow back in the playoff race.
