Sounds like Frazier, Robertson and Kahnle to the Yankees.

Odd move IMO, right? I guess they wanna try and win some this year. They’ve come back down to earth and they need starting pitching.

Rather them than the Red Sox.

Chapman, Betances, Robertson. They are banking on the starters just to give them 5.

Chapman and Betances haven't been as invincible this year as they have been in years past. If Judge continues to slump by his standards (last I saw he was like 1-24 since the HR Derby) and guys like Sabathia and Holliday get run down over the course of a long season, it wouldn't surprise me to see the Yanks still miss out on October.

Todd Frazier is batting .207. They can have him.
Kahnle and Robertson are both plus relievers.

New York honestly doesn't scare me as much as Boston or Houston.

I didn't think this was the year the Yankees should go for it all to be honest. I thought they should keep their farm and build up the roster a little more in the offseason and go for it next season. The team has exceeded expectations and probably hurt themselves in the long run going for the playoff this season depending on what they are going to give up for everyone.

White Sox getting Blake Rutherford from the Yankees

Make that 6 prospects in Baseball America's Top 60, 8 in the Top 100

The Indians would have the most interest in Fulmer

I think the Indians have the pieces for one huge deal without giving up BOTH Mejia and McKenzie. Olney said the Indians have their sights set on a young controllable starter....

Rutherford's stock is sinking like a stone this year

I would've rather seen what they wanted for JD Martinez.

If we're all healthy, where do you play him? Brantley/Zimmer/Lonnie has been pretty good this year, and the only other options are Santana/Edwin.

Plus, what would it have taken to get this done? I imagine you're parting with some legit prospects--probably one of Zimmer/Mejia/McKenzie, or multiple talented guys like Allen/Benson.

I'd love to get JD in here, and I think I'd stick him in LF, moving Brantley to 1B/DH with Edwin, and move Santana in another deal to recoup a couple prospects. However, that's a lot of moving parts...

Not mad we didn't pursue JD, Tribe and Tigers never would have come to terms. But he's phenomenal and would instantly be slotted in at RF or DH

D-Backs didn't give up that much, obviously the price would've been more being a rival but Tribe obviously would have walked if any of those Top 3 guys were involved.

vs. RHP: Brantley - Chis - JD
vs. LHP: Brantley - Jackson/Zimmer - JD

Zimmer becomes the most dangerous Pinch Runner in baseball for the playoffs, if he's not starting.

I agree--no way Detroit would've given us a fair deal. We'd have to overpay to make it worth their while. This trade never would've worked.

But, also, I don't want to see Zimmer sit at all right now. He should play everyday. His defense and ability on the basepath are enough already to warrant that.
