2017 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
What would be the price on someone like Kevin Pillar? Definitely fills the hole in CF, great defensively, decent enough at the plate.

Fun fact...

Gomes: .219/.324/.328, 87 wRC+, 0.3 fWAR

Lucroy: .225/.279/.350, 70 wRC+, 0.3 fWAR

Lucroy is a slow starter.

He's out of the question since Toronto will likely give him a contract extension after this season. Toronto will trade the guys that will be free agents and/or guys will be free agents in 19, not anyone else unless the offer is too great to take.

In your opinion.

In your opinion.

That's not my opinion, Pillar is under team until 2021, and Shapiro is now the head of the Blue Jays and is arbitration eligible next season which is the time to sign a guy to a contract extension, he isnt a guy who will be traded unless a team overpays for him. It's called baseball logic from a guy who ran the Indians

Well, no.

It's definitely still your own opinion.

Either way, Pillar is going to be too pricey for the Indians tastes unless we are willing to give up a lot of good prospects

What's the board's thoughts on the Matt Harvey situation and if it's even worth it for the Tribe to entertain a trade offer for him?

I know there will be chatter but I doubt the Mets would sell low right now.

Probably have to. That relationship is in the trash.

That said, given his performance, and the lack of history regarding coming back from his injury, I'm not giving up anything of real value.

This is way to early for this, This team is fine the way it is now. We can or until recently score runs with Okay starting pitching because Bullpen. I would rather focus on getting the team healthy and focused than trades right now.

Right now they will sell as high as possible and that would be out of the Indians willingness to pay for him especially with a fair amount of our top prospects being starters, I doubt we make a move for one like him. Now if we could get him for a very low price then we may give it a chance, but we don't know how much of the issue is on him and how much is on the organization

Harvey is young, has ace potential, is signed for another year, and is only making $4.3 M, which is nothing for a SP in MLB. There are obvious issues with he and the Mets but nothing that would force their hand to move now. Surely they're listening, but the asking price is going to be for "ace" Harvey - the Mets have no incentive right now to move him for less.

In other words, it's not happening.
